I gripped the necklace around my neck, my uncles sat down next to me. "(Name), It's okay to be angry." Liu said in a comforting tone. It really hit me today, the fact that Jeff would never talk to me, the fact that I'm nothing but a burden. I tried to lie, like I wasn't angry, "I'm not angry!" I retorted, Liu went to pat my head but I smacked his hand away. "You know what," I got up, "This is probably better for me, I mean, what kind of weakling stays up all night crying about something that they've been aware of for years." I wiped the tears for my eyes, "It's not like I'm wondering every night, what did I do?" I began to rant, everything was to much for me. "And guess what, I can do anything without my asshole of a father." "(Name)-" "I'm able to do everything without him. I mean, I learned how to fight without him, I got through my first dance without him, I learned how to play games without him, I learned how to make friends, I learned how to drive! I had so many amazing birthday's without him, he never showed up." I was losing all control at this point, "I'm done with this!" I yelled. Liu got up and pulled me into a tight hug, I sniffled, trying to hold back tears but it was impossible. I cried into Liu's shoulder, "H-how come he doesn't want me?" I muttered. Sully took control and hugged me tighter and pulled me more into his body. My heart ached with sadness and guilt, no one understands what I go through, and it makes it even worse to know I'm tearing everyone apart...
-Jeff POV-
My heart wrenched. My body relaxed against the wall as I listened in. I heard (Name), crying. Tears formed in my eyes and my black, messy, hair fell in my face when I looked down in shame. I tried to hold back my sniffles and cries, but I couldn't. Before Liu and (Name) could hear me I went back to my room and sat down on my bed. My back was slightly hunched and my head rested in my hands. The door to my room opened, it was Liu. My body shook slightly due to the guilt and stress. I looked up at Liu with teary eyes, "Jeff..." Liu said quietly. A scoff escaped my brother's lips, obviously Sully. Liu came up to me quickly and pulled me into a hug, I hugged back. I couldn't speak, I could only cry. Liu put all of his power to keep in control of his body. Finally, I could let out a few words, "I'm tearing everyone apart..."
-TIME SKIP | (Name) POV-
A few weeks went on and I barely spoke to anyone, including my uncles. I stayed in my room and never left, everything was to much to handle. I spiraled and spiraled, I couldn't help but stay engulfed by my own thoughts and insecurities. Suddenly, someone knocked on my door, I stayed quiet. The door creaked open, to my surprise, Jeff stood in the doorway. "Uhh, hey." he said blankly. I stared at him in shock, eye bags probably obvious underneath my eyes. "Can you talk for a minute? Privately?" Jeff said, scratching the back of his head. Without thinking I nodded quickly, "Alright, meet me in the front yard. When your ready." With that, Jeff left my room and his footsteps faded away in the direction of the front door. My body was frozen for a few minutes before I shook my head rapidly and got off of my bed. I put on a hoodie and wrapped the necklace around my neck. Before I left my room, I took a deep breath and wiped my eyes. When I opened the door I was nearly blinded by the bright hallway lights. I made my way downstairs and left the mansion, luckily the curtains were drawn so no one could see me and Jeff talking outside. When I exited the mansion I saw Jeff sitting on the porch bench, his hands in his hoodie pockets. "H-hey." I said quietly, closing the front door. Jeff got up and gave me a kind of look that I can't really describe. To be honest, I was nervous. Why would Jeff, my father that never even tried to raise me, want to talk to me after all these years? "(Name)... I-" Jeff struggled to find words, "I'm sorry." Jeff said quietly. "I'm sorry that I never cared for you, and left you and Liu in the dark for all these years." Jeff's raspy voice cracked. A pitiful and painful smile spread across my lips, "No, I should be the one that's sorry!" I blurted out. Jeff looked up at me with shocked eyes, "I'm the one that tore everyone apart in the first place. It's my fault that you and Uncle Liu aren't close anymore." I whimpered, Jeff came closer to me, "It's not your fault." Jeff said in a comforting tone. Tears formed in my eyes and my body tensed, "Don't fuck with me." I said bluntly, Jeff put his hands on my shoulders. "It's not your fault, (Name)." Jeff repeated before pulling me into a hug. I hugged back without a second thought, I was happy. Jeff let out a shaky breath, "I'll try to be a better father from here on out. I promise." Jeff said, pulling back with a small grin on his face. I nodded and wiped the tears from my eyes.
-Small after story!-
After that, we talked to Liu and Sully and explained the situation. Liu was happy about it and made amends with his brother, Sully was a bit... Rigid, about it but agreed anyway. We talked to everyone about everything going on and they were all relieved about it, they were scared that we would never make up. Now everyone is closer than ever! I'm happy to live here with my family, and I'm proud to call everyone in the mansion my family.
(Wow, that was a roller coaster...)
