"it's decision time sweetheart. whose side are you on?" tony asks.
i look down at the documents in front of me, reading them closely again.
"we don't have all day, y/n. please just make a decision."
i look up at the men with tears in my eyes. tony is my uncle. he took me in after my parents died and raised me like his own daughter. i let him run experiments on me which caused me to have super speed and strength. he's helped me so much since the accident and i want to be on his side. but is it the right side?
steve is my husband. we became very close as soon as he woke up from the ice. he was just my best friend for a long time and then we started dating. steve saved me from the hydra compound that i nearly got kidnapped at. he proposed to me as soon as we got back home. that night he confessed that he can't loose me and if he did, he would die. i got pregnant a year ago and had a miscarriage from being shot in my stomach. losing our baby took a huge affect on me but steve stood by my side through it all. i can't leave his side now.
"i can't sign these uncle tony. i love you so much and i'm grateful for all you've done for me, but i agree with my husband on this. i'm not going to be treated like a caged animal. i'm sorry tony."
tony looks up at me with sad eyes. i walk over to embrace him for a hug but he swats my arms away and walks to the door.
"i thought you were better than this, kid. i'm very disappointed in you,y/n."
my heart sank when he left. steve ran to my side and held me as i cried. looking up at steve i whisper, "i told you i would stay by your side my love."
"i know baby. i know." he rubbed my back as i continued to cry.
did i do the right thing?
