billie doused drink after drink, attempting to forget her previous conversation with prince.
the problem wasn't him, it was the topic of discussion.
the mention of brandon's name brought back memories billie had been trying to hard to ignore.
as she began to stumble and her vision became blurry, an image flashed in her head.
the way madelyn had been backed up against a locker, his rough hands getting closer to her, the fear in her pretty eyes.
and then she remembered how badly her body ached as he beat her, almost to a pulp. the ringing of the gun shot came next. the away she crippled to the ground brought angry tears to her eyes.
she hated that night as much as she hated que. she felt weak and incapable. she despised that madelyn had to watch her get dragged away in the arms of the police, unsure if she would ever see billie again.
the blood.
there was so much blood. she practically painted the concrete red.
it took weeks for her bruises to heal; months for her to even walk without support because of her leg.
prince watched cautiously from a distance, keeping an eye on a drunken billie.
she took one last sip from her solo cup and tried her best to walk in a straight line, headed to a nearby garbage can to trash her cup.
she leaned against a wall to maintain her balance and let her eyelids drift down.
and then she spotted her.
a woman in the midst of the crowd, likely a college junior.
what shocked billie the most was that she looked exactly like madelyn. this factor, obviously, peaked an interest in an intoxicated billie.
her lazy eyes sized up the girl's hour glass figure until they met eyes.
the girl smiled, took a sip of her drink, then looked away, resuming her own conversation.
completely under the influence, billie was unaware of what she was doing. hell, she didn't know where she was.
in her head, she was staring at madelyn.
doesn't that justify it?
billie pushed herself off the wall, pulled up her shorts, and walked over to her general area, surrounding herself in a pit of dancing, sweaty teens.
she maneuvered through the crowd, getting closer.
it wasn't that she necessarily wanted to fuck her. she was just infatuated with her. more specifically, the similarities she shared with madelyn.
soon enough, the two were less than a foot away from each other.
the girl looked billie up and down, admiring her lack of femininity and otherwise masculine energy.
she licked her lips and grinned, "you should know i'm straight."
"and i have a girlfriend." billie said bluntly.
"then why are you here?" a teasing tone was found in her voice.
"i have no fuckin' clue. i'm just reallyyy drunk. shit, i barely remember my middle names."
"i think you need a glass of water, don't you?" she taunted, turning around and backing her ass against her as the song blaring in the background changed.
luckily, prince had been close by.
"aye, aye! hold up," holding a cup in his left hand, he pushed through the crowd and as gently as possible, moved her off of billie.
