Author's Note: Hey guys, so short chapter. Sorry, go hate on Brittney, she wouldn't leave me alone and kept pressuring me to write something. I have a bad case of stupid writers block and couldn't think, so this is the result. I don't know when Chapter 23 will be up, hopefully this weekened but who know! Any who here is this chapter that I loathe. Brittney... I swear. -_-

Chapter 22

What’s The Worst That Could Happen?

***Brittney’s POV***

-A Week Later-

Silence.

It was the only thing that filled the flat. After the events at the hospital I had learned to deal with it. Harry and Jessica refused to speak to me. The other boys would give me a look every time they saw me, one of almost pity, and Kayla… well who the hell knew where she was.

The front door swung open to reveal an emotionless Harry making me jump to my feet in surprise. “Harry…?”

“When?” He demanded as his balled his hands into tiny fist. I looked at his green eyes, tilting me head to the side in confusion.

“When what Harry?”

“Don’t play me Brittney! When was you going to tell me you were with him?!”

My eyes widened in shock, my body freezing as every memory hit me like a sack of bricks. Every emotion, every hit, each blow, I felt as if I relived it.

I couldn’t stop myself from seeing them; all I could do was sit back as each memory slowly faded back.

-Night of the Party-

“Yo Brittney!” A loud voice screamed to my left causing me to tilt backwards and nearly fall over.

Nothing made anymore. To me red was blue, and green was yellow. Nothing was right, and personally, I loved it.

“Hey!” I screamed as I raised my glass in the air again. An arm snuck around my waist, a hot breath on my ear that made the hair on the back of my skin stand up.

“Hello Brittney…”

I didn’t need to turn around to know who it was; after spending countless hours with him or on the phone with him I could tell his voice from miles away. It made me think of happier times which I most certainly did not want to remember.

“Jayden.”

“Oh please Brittney, enough with the formality. We’re both adults here having a drink, don’t you think we’ve known each other far to long for that?”

“Maybe so, but maybe I don’t want or need to talk to you.” I answered back as I downed the rest of the drink in my head, swallowing as I looked him straight in the eyes.

“Oh but you need me very much Britt…” He whispered as he handed me another drink, smiling as I took a sip out of it. “Now since you don’t need me I’ll be taking off. Have a nice night Brittney!”

I rolled my eyes at the boy, trying my best to ignore him as I walked back towards the dance floor. By my fifth drink I was feeling like I could fly. Every time I was handed a drink the feeling of being watched ached the back of my head.

At three everyone started to leave along with me. Stumbling out of the flat I (tried) walking towards  my car, knowing very well the possibilities of me getting home safely was slim to know. You only live once…! Okay never again.

“Hey cutie.” A gruff voice said from my left causing me to pick up my pace. “Aw come on babe, don’t be like that.”

Two hairy arms snuck around my waist causing me to scream in shock. “Get off of me you creep!”

“I don’t think so doll. The boss gave us some big plans and I plan on following them out.”

A large hand covered my mouth preventing me from screaming, a slight sting came from my other arm as I felt myself begin to grow drowsy. “Shhh… just sleep now honey. The boss doesn’t like having things taken from him. Tell your curly friend he better watch him back. X says hi.”

All the panic I felt left my body as my body sunk to the ground of the cold parking lot, my last glimpse was of Jayden off in the distance smoking a fag (A:N Cigarette for us Americans!) laughing.

-Present-

“Harry…!” I said in almost a shriek. My voice came out hoarse and quivering making Harry’s expression change from pissed to worry like that.

“Britt… are you okay? I’m sorry I yelled at you it’s just you know, I care about you.”

“No Harry! X… Jayden… he’ll hurt you like he hurt me. Oh god Harry!”

Harry stopped the worry act and let a smile slip on his face; he took me in his arms and began petting my head in a calming motion.

“Babe, X is just a joke some of our haters made up, nothing to worry about.”

With widened eyes I made Harry look at me, grabbing his jaw to shift his eyes towards my own. “No. They did this to me. There was a man in the parking lot after the party, he said, ‘X says hi’ before I passed out.”

“Britt don’t worry about it, I’ll be fine. It worries you that much I’ll get Paul to get more security. Now I’ve got to go to a meeting but I’ll see you later babe.”

He planted his lips on mine, shocking both of us. Harry looked at me for a moment before his gave shifted to the floor and his hand went to scratch the back of his head. “Sorry…”

“It’s fine Hazza, but please think about everything.”

Harry rolled his eyes but nodded his head at me, stopping the door way before looking back at me with another heart stopping smile.

“I’ll be fine Britt; I mean what’s the worst that could happen?”

Oh how wrong he was.
