Lyall Lupin kicked the bedsheets off of him and jumped out of bed, changed and went to the kitchen. He was the first one awake, his wife and son, Hope and Remus were probably both in bed. Lyall got himself some toast and stuffed it in his mouth, as he was about to apparate, he saw his wife coming out of the bedroom, she was groggy-eyed but still smiling as she held the hand of their 4-year-old son, Remus Lupin.
"Why are you going so early? You don't usually go to work until an hour later!" said Hope, letting go of Remus's hand and Remus walked towards the kitchen table.
"2 muggle children were found dead yesterday, the only person there was a tramp. I have to go to the question committee to interrogate him," Lyall responded, leaving the door and going towards Hope.
"That's awful! But, you work on those things called boggarts, or do I not understand enough of the magical world to find out what job you have?" Hope said while smiling and Lyall chuckled.
"The amount of Dark activity going on in the wizarding world is increasing and the ministry needs all the help they can get! They need the help of people like me, who work on boggarts and poltergeists," Lyall said
"Whatever you say, dear. Have a good day at work!" said Hope. She stood on her tiptoes and kissed him on the cheek.
"Bye honey, bye Remus," said Lyall and Remus hopped off his seat and ran towards his Dad and hugged him.
"Bye Daddy," Remus said and Lyall kissed him on the head before letting go of Remus and apparting out of the room.
Lyall appeared in front of the Ministry and walked through the doors. He looked around the ministry of magic, he was thinking about what he would be doing at his home right now if he didn't have to question the tramp. Probably having breakfast with my family he thought as he walked towards the questioning room. It wasn't as though Lyall was sad about questioning the tramp, in fact, he was quite happy ever since he was asked to be in the Department of the Regulation and Control of magical creatures.
He finally reached the questioning room, which was actually one of the court trial rooms the ministry used for criminal trials, even though this was only just a questioning. Rows of seats were placed around the room and in the middle was a chair where the accused would sit and be questioned. A few ministry workers were there and the head of the questioning committee was sitting in the front seat. Lyall took a seat and waited patiently for the questioning to begin.
After a few minutes, 2 ministry workers brought in the tramp and sat him down on the seat. The tramp was looking around at his surroundings in awe. The two ministry workers sat down and the questioning began.
"You were found at the scene where the 2 muggle children lay dead, what were you doing there?" asked the Head of the committee.
"Oh, 2 dead children, that is simply awful," cried the tramp
"Yes, it is awful. Now, what were you doing at the scene when the 2 children lay dead?" asked the Head again, his impatience increasing.
"I'm just a tramp, I wander around most of the time and I stumbled upon the 2 dead kids!" he said,
"Excuse me," said one of the ministry workers that brought the tramp in,
"What is it Stultus," asked the head, turning towards Stultus,
"Well, when Villis and I were bringing him in, he didn't have a wand on him, and he was looking around the ministry, fascinated, as though he had never seen anything like it, I think he might be a muggle,"
"So do I," said a man whom Lyall assumed was Villis, other people began nodding in agreement.
But Lyall was not paying attention to this conversation, he was looking at the man's physical appearance. Something seemed a bit odd. He knew that this man wasn't just a normal human, he knew something was off, but Lyall couldn't tell what. He looked more closely at the tramp and after a few minutes something finally clicked: Werewolf
"HE'S NOT A MUGGLE," shouted Lyall unexpectedly and he made a few jump.
The head of the committee turned around to face Lyall, an annoyed expression on his face, "Is there something you wish to say Lupin?" he asked
"He's not a muggle, he's a werewolf, I've noticed some signs," Lyall declared and for a moment there was silence as everyone took in this information, and then everyone in the room (except the tramp) roared with laughter. Lyall's face turned red with embarrasment.
"Lyall, why don't you just stick to welsh boggarts, cause that's what your good for" yelled someone and everyone laughed even harder, and Lyall's embarrassment turned to rage.
"HE IS A WEREWOLF, I KNOW IT, THEY ARE SOULESS, EVIL AND DESERVE NOTHING BUT DEATH," Lyall shouted at the top of his lungs and everyone stopped laughing and they stared at Lyall as though he was crazy. The tramp sat in silence.
"Lupin, get out," said the Head of the committee and Lyall did not argue, he was still so mad, he grabbed his bag and walked out the door and Lyall went to his office and got to work, he was still fuming, I know he's a werewolf, Lyall kept on thinking, over and over again.
"I'm so sorry about that, so sorry," the head kept on apologising and apologising to the muggle tramp.
"It's alright," the tramp kept on saying
"Anyways, we should get on with the trial," said the head and thinking he should stop wasting time when they had enough evidence to end the questioning, he asked "Who believes that the accused is innocent?" and everyone in the room raised their hand. The head did not need to go on anymore, "The muggle is innocent, everyone is dismissed,"
Everyone got up and left the room, the Head turned around to Villis and said "Please escort the muggle out and place a memory charm on him,"
Villis nodded and got out of his seat and sezied the muggle by the arm and escorted him out of the room and they walked together until they went outside of the Ministry of Magic. Villis got out his wand, looked around an saw that the street was empty and was about to use the memory charm on him, when 2 men crept up behind Villis and seized him and took him off the tramp. They pushed him onto the ground and beat him up until Villis stopped struggling and lay on the ground unconscious.
The three werewolves fled.
The werewolves ran till they got to their underground community and there they stayed. Fenir greyback was suprised and slightly amused on how easy it was to trick those stupid wizards. He thought he had to use his brillant mind to trick and manipulate the wizards to think he was just a muggle tramp. But all he had to do was act like he was saddened by the death and act like a clueless muggle. Of course, Greyback told his accomplices quickly about this and they chuckled at how easily fooled the wizards were.
But then, Greyback remembered something, something that made his blood boil, something that made him want to scream with anger. He remembered the words that Lyall Lupin said about his kind Souless, Evil, Deserving nothing but Death.
Greyback wasted no time in explaining what Lupin just said about werewolves, he said every word with a bitter resentment in his voice. When he finished telling the two of them, they both had disgusted looks on their faces.
"What are you going to do? You need to get revege on him," said one of the werewolves
"Yes, I do, but I don't know what," Greyback responded
"I heard he has a family, I also heard he has a 4 year old son, named Remus Lupin, maybe you could hurt him, or kill him," said the other werewolf eagerly
"I do like the idea of hurting his son, but I want to do something more than just kill him," said Greyback, having a greedish smile etched upon his face
"What?" they both asked
"Well you see, a father losing his son must be unbearable, it will surely cause him more pain than any injury I inflict upon him. But why should I kill the boy when I have the chance to add another number to our pack?,"
"So, you mean-," began one of the werewolves
"Yes, I'll raise him as my own,"
