Lightly dipping his paintbrush into the paint, he basked in the silence of the empty classroom.
The school day was over but George often enjoyed staying in the art classroom and work on projects.
It helped him vomit up his emotions, in a metaphorical way.
Stepping back to look at the canvas he lightly blushed. He really didn't think that he would've used the sketch from the earlier day, but here we are.
The prompt for the project was an everyday morning. George hadn't been able to capture the casual emotion in any of his attempts at drawing.
But somehow his little soulmate sparked some creativity in him. Maybe it was how nonchalant Dream looked.
No, he didn't draw the actual Dream though. That would be a bit cringy.
Instead, George had decided to draw an average looking individual in the same pose, seemingly laughing at an unseeable friend.
He didn't really feel the same feeling or vibe from it, but he ran with it.
Hearing the classroom door squeal open, George sighed knowing who it was.
Watching the tall male bring a stool right next to George, Dream lightly tilted his head at the painting.
" What excuse do you have for appearing now?" George grunted as he continued painting.
" Is wanting to check on what you were doing a good enough excuse?" Dream purred as he watched George look over to him.
George sighed before muttering something under his breath.
The other male raised an eyebrow at that action, staring at George.
" Am I really that much of a nuisance to you?" Dream mused causing the shorter boy to pause.
" You can sometimes be a nuisance I guess, the soul string is a different story though," George lightly responded as he chewed on the wooden end of his paintbrush.
" It's just so...annoying. I don't like how it forces me to do things I don't want to do," He murmured, his paint strokes becoming quicker, showing off a distressed aura. Dream stayed silent.
" And well...I just...don't like it I guess." George paused as he casted a glance over to Dream. George whispered a sorry before continuing painting.
The duo stayed silent, only a bird once in a while ruining it.
" I don't know why you despise it so much, But I do know one thing," Dream said softly. George paused to look over to him.
" Fate caused me to be your soulmate...and so I'll thank it for that," Dream smiled softly, causing George's heart to skip a beat before he shook his head.
" That's kinda cringy Dream," George replied causing the other male to erupt into a fit of wheezes.

Welp this is a lot more fluff then I usually write.
