~~CLAY'S POV~~

" What do you mean? Of course, I love him-" Clay had started to say.

" Idiot, if you loved him, you would love him how he is. So why would you do something like that?" Dave whispered in a dangerously low voice

Clay sighed knowing what Dave meant.

" How about this, you promise me to treat 'Gogy' right, and I'll tell you where he is. If you don't treat him right, I'll spill the beans on that secret of yours, got it?" Dave said as he raised an eyebrow at Clay.

" Okay, I promise," Clay murmured, this wasn't about him, this was about George.

" He's a block away hiding in some bushes big man," Dave said as he patted Clay's shoulder.

" Oh and also Dre?" Dave said. Clay snorted as he looked back at Techno.

" What?" Clay said sharply.

" You're getting worse Mr. Fernby. The more orphans dreams I crush, the weaker you get," Dave smiled at Clay before disappearing behind a building.

Clay sighed before going on his way.

~~GEORGE'S POV~~

George didn't know how long he was in that terrified state but he was jerked out when something touched his shoulder.

Looking up in confusion, his heart dropped when he spotted a freckled face.

He didn't get to say anything though as he was pulled into a hug.

He missed this type of warmth.

" I'm sorry, really," Clay whispered into George's ear causing him to lightly tear up a bit.

Clay wasn't Darby, and Darby wasn't Clay. No matter how much he thought about it.

The duo didn't leave that state, only the slight pitter-patter of the light rain could be heard.

" Why?" George whispered, making Clay let go of George.

" I just didn't want you to leave me," Clay murmured. George frowned before giving Clay a quick peck on the cheek.

George sighed as he listened to the rain.

" Idiot," George responded causing Clay to lightly chuckle.

" I really I am for you," Clay softly said.

The duo returned to their embrace, diving back into the silence.

" The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" Clay lightly said, looking up into the sky. George looked up into the sky as well.

The moon wasn't fully visible but you could see it illuminate through the clouds, giving it a mysterious look.

" Yeah," George whispered.

The wind chimes returned, this time muffled by the light rain.

George didn't see it but he knew what the color of the string was.

Red. The red string of fate, the string might've been tangled in the duo's problems, but it existed. And that's what mattered.

Swans. That's what the duo reminded George of.
