As I sneaked down the narrow alley,
I ran as fast as my feet could carry
With the red purse clutched in my hand-
I could hear the old man's demand"Stop, you thief!", he said
But I ignored him and looked ahead
His raging voice goes into a fade
Little did I know that a trap was laidTwo bulky men wearing blue uniforms stood afront
Waiting like predators on a hunt
My feet automatically pulled to a halt
With knees down on the ground, I admitted my fault"Please let me go. I haven't eaten anything for days," I pleaded
Yet they beat me mercilessly and soon left unheeded
It was then that I realized-power brings people to the top
Without it, you might as well just put your heart to a stop
