Every day, every night
All they do is fight
Their voices were thunderstorms in the night
Keeping me wide awake all the time
From dusk 'til dawn, I'm crying all alone

To make up for it, you gave me a teddy bear
But I knew that love wasn't there
The wind's touch and whispers terrify me
My hands reached for you unknowingly
But when I opened my eyes, both of you weren't there

My family was like a broken picture frame
Broken into pieces and impossible to fix
I used to say, "mom, dad, don't leave me.
I promise I will behave"
But you wouldn't listen to my pleas

I could taste the sourness of your relationship
It was unbearably painful
To watch the thing I loved the most
Breaking apart slowly
Descending into darkness

The smell of rust and rotten meat
Filled the entire house we once called "home"
Now, it's nothing but old lumber
"Mom, dad, please, come back for me"
I begged them for the last time before I slept peacefully
