Chapter 5: One Pawn Out.

I was sitting on the couch while watching TV with Asahi who had his head rested on my lap. "Queen-sama!" Monarch said though the phone.

"You better bring me some good news." I growled. Asahi, on the other hand stared at me while smiling widely.

"Yes Queen-sama! I managed to take down two of them-ssu!" Monarch replied and I could sense that his voice was shaking.

"Continue taking down each one of them." Asahi replied taking the phone from me.

"Yessir!" Monarch said before Asahi ended the call.

He then gave my phone back to me, "Are you sure we can trust him?" I asked Asahi who continued watching the TV.

"Mi amor, you know that you're the only one I trust. If he fails, I know you'll take care of the loose ends." Asahi replied kissing my thigh.

For the past 3 days, I had gotten used to his clinginess and this was normal for the both of us. "Alright. Good luck for your class tomorrow." I told Asahi who grinned.

"Of course mi amor." Asahi replied.

/@ Somewhere in Japan;

"Erina-sama! We've just received a report from Tadakoro Megumi. It appears that they, unfortunately; haven't yet gotten closer to solving this matter." Hisako reported to Erina who was busy admiring the starry sky.

"I see. Well, I never expected it to go simply or quickly." Erina replied still thinking of something, or rather someone else.

"But, Erina-sama... I guess I still don't really understand." Hisako said confused. "This disappearance, is it really enough of an issue for the Elite Ten to deal with it personally?"

"It doesn't even seem like something a chef would able to do anything about." she added.

"Perhaps. Under usual circumstances, you would be right." Erina said. "I suppose you could call them dark chefs." Erina replied while huffing the steam off her tea.

"Dark?" Hisako asked frowning.

Erina sipped a bit of her tea before replying, "Yes, they operate in a world quite different than the public one of 'light' where we reside." Erina stated.

"For example, the illegal parties of the underworld. In effect, this underground market has fallen under the purview of a select group of chefs."

"They make no appearances in the public world of cuisine. People call them 'Le Cuisinier Noir' or 'The Midnight Chefs'. They wield their knives in the dark nights of the gourmet world."
