Chapter 25: Steak

[Hayama's Point of View]

I looked at (L/N) who was blankly staring outside the big window. Wait... (L/N) (Y/N)? I frowned, wondering where I have heard that name. But... I have to admit, she is mysteriously enchanting.

I caught a glimpse of her eyes, they were beautiful yet sad. It looked like she was stating out loud that she's longing for something. Is something bothering her?

[ "Congratulations! ]

Ah! Why am I worrying about her?

"Next up Akira-kun." Sarge called out to me so I was snapped back to reality. The participant before me exited the testing room after I entered. I noticed (L/N) turned her head and looked me. I held my dish close before serving it.

"I'll be his judge." (L/N) said as we stared at each other.

"You should be grateful~ Ojou-sama will be the one to judge your cooking!" Don Calma beamed making me scoff. I removed the lid and the aroma of my dish filled the room. I looked at them as they were staring amused at my dish, though (L/N) just stared at it.

I couldn't see what her reaction was but judging from her eyes she was happy. Why would she be?

"Hmm~ Itadakimasu." (L/N) said clasping her hands together before holding her fork and knife.

"Aren't you going to take your mask off?" I asked confused. Both her generals looked at me surprised while (L/N) let out a chuckle.

"You're pretty daring for someone who hasn't passed yet." Sarge said while glaring at me.

"It's fine, Aki-kun is right Sarge." (L/N) said making me look at her surprised.

'I think Aki-kun's sick!'

'I'm not sick! Can I call you (Nickname)-senpai in return?'

Senpai?

My heart started beating fast as I watched (L/N) take her mask off. She looked at me while wearing that warm familiar smile. My hunch was right... She's (Y/N)-senpai, the owner of D'Lockes and a former guest lecturer in Totsuki. And... The first woman who taught me that cooking isn't the only thing that exist in this world.

I've liked her for a long time but after we won against Central... She disappeared without leaving a trace. Not giving me a chance to confess my feelings.
