2 MONTHS LATER

IN THE CAFETERIA

"PARTY AT MY HOUSE ON SATURDAY! EVERYONE'S INVITED!"

Someone was actually standing on a table in the cafeteria, waving a bunch of papers that were obviously invitations to a party.

"Who's that?" Haechan asked Jimin.

"Oh, that's Jackson." Jimin said, looking appraisingly at the man on the table.

"He's... hot." Haechan said, raising an eyebrow at Jimin.

Jimin silently agreed. There was probably no better way to describe Jackson. He was hot. His body was perfect, his hair smooth, his facial features sharp, his clothes the latest cool fashion and all black, all expensive brands. And on top of that, he was also really nice.

So, him standing on a table waving invitations to a party had a huge effect. All the girls went up there to grab an invitation, and most of the boys as well.

"Here, take one, I got two." a girl said to Haechan, handing him an invitation, when she noticed him staring at Jackson with his mouth half open.

"Thanks." he said, still not taking his eyes off the guy giving them out.

"Haechannie, stop staring. You already have a boyfriend, don't you?" Jimin said, lightly hitting him on the shoulder.

"Eh, yeah, sure. I was just wondering, why haven't I seen him before?" Haechan answered, closing his half open mouth now looking back at Jimin.

"Because he doesn't go to this school anymore. He left last year. He's been doing military service and obviously he's finished that now or he's on a break or something. And in desperate need of a party, it seems." Jimin said, dragging Haechan to the counter to get food.

Haechan looked at the piece of paper in his hand.

"Let's go there!" Haechan said.

"Why? Because Jackson is hot?" Jimin asked.

"Noo. I'm not interested anyway. I've got what I want. But because... you... need to find someone." Haechan said, poking Jimin in the chest with his forefinger.

"I don't know." Jimin said.

They looked around for a table after having bought their lunch, and saw Tae waving at them from where he sat with Jungkook. Jimin and Haechan went there to join them.

"Tae, what do you say, shouldn't we all go to Jackson's party?" Haechan asked when they sat down.

Tae glanced at Jungkook.

"Can we go, Kookie?" he asked.

"Yeah, sure, why not? It sounds fun. And I think at least someone here could really need a party." Jungkook said, looking at Jimin.

In fact they all looked at Jimin, sort of smirking.

"What the fuck! Don't look at me like that!" Jimin said, feeling his cheeks getting hot.

"It's been two months, Chim." Tae said.

"I know. But that doesn't mean I'm desperate or anything!" Jimin said frustrated over his friends' teasing.

"I don't say you are, Jimin! I just think you could find someone to... distract yourself a bit. Someone to take you out. To have some fun with." Tae said, smiling encouragingly.

"We feel bad for you, you know." Haechan said. "When we go out on dates and you're all alone at home!"

"So. What you are basically saying is that I should find a date, for your sake, so that you don't have to feel sorry for me?" Jimin said, incredulous.

Jimin shook his head at his hopeless friends. He knew they cared about him and only wanted his best. But this nagging about him starting to date was just a bit much.

"Whatever. If you all wanna go, we go." he finally said, just to get them off his back.

Jimin didn't really care either way.

He involuntarily cast a glance towards the other side of the cafeteria. He knew who was sitting there. Just a glimpse of Hoseok's black hair and leather jacket was enough to make Jimin's heart beat faster. Hoseok looked so handsome, talking to Jin and Yoongi.

Jimin quickly looked away. He wasn't supposed to stare at Hoseok. He wasn't supposed to care. He had made up his mind two months ago not to date him after what happened. He shouldn't even think about him.

So maybe a party was good after all.

ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CAFETERIA

"You should get a leash, Yoongi, to keep that boyfriend of yours in check!" Jin said teasingly when he noticed Haechan staring at Jackson over by the entrance to the cafeteria.

Jin and Yoongi were sitting with Hoseok at their usual table in a corner of the cafeteria, eating lunch. Yoongi turned around in his seat and looked at Haechan.

"What's the fucking little brat doing now?" Yoongi mumbled, shaking his head, at the same time amused and a bit annoyed.

Yoongi wasn't worried. He knew Haechan was his. But was it really necessary that he should stare at Jackson like that?

There was nothing he could do about it though. In school Yoongi and Haechan didn't hang out or even show their relationship. There were many reasons for this and the main one sat next to Yoongi. Hoseok.

How could Yoongi hang out with Haechan, when Haechan was one of Jimin's best friends and Yoongi was with Hoseok? No, it just wasn't possible. Those two, Jimin and Hoseok... well... let's say they weren't exactly on speaking terms.

Hoseok had followed Yoongi's gaze when he turned towards the entrance, but Hoseok never really saw Haechan. He only noticed Jimin, who was standing there next to Haechan, looking relaxed, as beautiful and adorable as ever.

Oh fuck.

Hoseok's heart skipped a beat and his body felt numb, as if the world stopped for a second.

It was still the same every time Hoseok happened to see him.

Jimin.

He had been Hoseok's for such a short time, but he couldn't forget, couldn't get him out of his mind.

Usually Hoseok was quite good at avoiding Jimin, though. It was almost as if his brain knew before his eyes, and made Hoseok look away before he could see him, or managed to take him on a Jimin-free route through the corridors, to save Hoseok from the pain.

Jin and Yoongi usually pretended that Jimin didn't exist, that he had never existed. His name was never mentioned and what had happened between Hoseok and Jimin was never discussed. Hoseok's miserable and depressive mood had become a new normal.

With an effort Hoseok now turned his gaze away from Jimin, grimacing as if he'd been hurt.

Jin watched him in silence. He knew how Hoseok felt, even though they never talked about it. He knew Hoseok was still desperately in love with Jimin.

"Hope... you okay?" Jin tried cautiously.

"Shut the fuck up, Jinnie. I'm fine." Hoseok said, shifting his focus back to his food.

He knew that Jin knew he was lying.

The truth was Hoseok had been everything but fine for the last two months.
