Chapter 55 - Meet friends

IN THE CITY CENTRE

Jungkook was hanging out with his friends. 

He knew he had neglected them somewhat since he got together with Taehyung, and he felt slightly bad about it. So today he'd make it up to them. He thought it might be good for him and Tae to spend a day apart once in a while. And well, he was still a bit mad at Tae for yesterday.

Now the four of them sat at an ice cream café at a round table. 

"What's up, Jungkook? Why did you suddenly want to meet up? Did something happen?" Yugyeom asked. 

Yugyeom was always the one who understood Jungkook the best.

"No, not really. Just needed to get away from home a bit." Jungkook said.

"Home? You mean Taehyung's place?" Mingyu asked. 

"Of course. I told you why I can't stay with my dad anymore." Jungkook said. 

He had told them after the incident when his dad almost beat him to death.

"Yeah, don't think we forgot what he did to you, JK. Lucky you have Taehyung to take care of you!" Jaehyun said. 

"Is everything okay between you and Taehyung?" Yugyeom asked, sensing there was something on Jungkook's mind.

"Well, yeah. It's just... yesterday... at Jackson's party. Tae got so drunk. And... I don't like that a lot. Bad experiences, you know." Jungkook said. 

"Because of your dad, I guess. That makes sense. Tae should respect that." Yugyeom said.

Jungkook nodded. 

"Did Taehyung do something really stupid? Except getting drunk, that is?" Mingyu asked. 

"For one thing, he had promised to stay off the strong liquor, but he didn't. And then... he went away into the garden with a fucking guy who had checked him out the whole evening! Because the guy offered him a fucking umbrella drink!" Jungkook said, frustrated. 

"Oh, fuck, he's an idiot. I mean, he's handsome, JK, I get that, but he's such an idiot." Jaehyun commented.

"Nah. He was just... drunk. But it made me so mad. And jealous. I was quite harsh with him. Dragged him away from there. Threw him into the car. Now I'm angry at him, but also at myself a bit, for reacting the way I did." Jungkook said. 

"What did he say to you this morning?" Yugyeom asked. 

"Nothing. I went out before he woke up. I slept on the sofa, so I didn't even go into the bedroom. Left him a note on the table."

"Oh, that's a hard punishment for Tae, you choosing to sleep on the sofa!" Mingyu exclaimed. 

"It wasn't a punishment, Mingyu! I just couldn't stand the smell of alcohol on his breath." Jungkook said. 

"But... do you still like him?" Yugyeom asked. 

Jungkook sighed. 

"Yes. I love him. He's my everything. But maybe, sometimes, even the one you love can make you disappointed." Jungkook said. 

"Of course they can. Jeongyeon has been disappointed in me several times, I'm quite sure. But she still loves me. I hope." Yugyeom said.

"I have been disappointed in you several times, Yuggie. But I still love you. As a friend, I mean." Jaehyun chuckled.
