AT TAE'S PLACE
Despite his headache Tae had gone to the grocery store and bought all he needed to make Jungkook's favourite dinner, his favourite snacks and ingredients for that chocolate cake Jungkook once made for the two of them. He bought no alcohol.
He felt so bad for how he had acted the night before, he was so ashamed of himself. And he was so anxious about Jungkook maybe not loving him anymore.
He tried to ignore his feelings by cleaning all the apartment, doing all their laundry, changing the bed linen and towels, even ironing all their clothes before it was time to start preparing the dinner.
It was better to have something to do than to just sit there worrying.
After a couple of hours he was sweaty but ready.
The meat was perfect, it just needed ten minutes of rest before he cut it. There were vegetables and potatoes au gratin. A small starter of crostinis. The chocolate cake was in the oven, ice cream was out of the freezer to be just soft enough in time for the desert and the table was set with lit candles. He had also made an effort mixing really good non-alcoholic drinks.
The only thing was that Jungkook wasn't home yet.
If he took a quick shower to freshen himself up, Jungkook would probably be home when he was ready, Tae thought. But when he was done, and had dressed himself in tight jeans and his sexiest white silk shirt that he knew Jungkook liked, there was still no Jungkook.
Tae had eventually texted him in the late afternoon, after first hesitating for several hours. He didn't want it to seem as he was making any demands, or disturb him when he was with friends.
Sorry about yesterday, Jungkook. I hope you're having fun with your friends. Looking forward to seeing you later. Love you.
He had received no answer, which made him a bit anxious, but he still had been sure Jungkook would be home for dinner. He always came home for dinner. They had had dinner together every night since Jungkook moved in with Tae, over two months ago. If Jungkook planned not to come home, at least he would have told Tae, he was sure about that.
But now it was already nine o'clock and no Jungkook. Tae bit his lip.Where is he? Maybe I should call him? I don't want to be controlling, but what if something happened to him?
Then he remembered Jungkook's black gaze yesterday and how angry he had been, throwing Tae so violently into the car, yelling at him. Tae didn't want to piss him off like that again. So he just waited, still believing his boyfriend would come home soon.
But no one came and now it was half past nine. The truth slowly sank in and Tae felt cold. He's not coming, Taehyung. He's so mad that he doesn't even want to see you. You fucked up so badly, you ought to have known. He's right to ignore you. You're so useless. Fuck it, Taehyung, how could you even think that this would be enough to make it up to him? All this effort was for nothing. Of course, he'll stay away from you after what you did. He's leaving, that's why he doesn't come home. Jungkook hates you. And you should just hate yourself, too.
He blew out the candles and threw himself on the sofa. He buried his face in one of the pillows and cried.
On the table stood two bowls with Jungkook's favourite snacks and candy, waiting for Tae's planned movie night.
