"Sorry I couldn't stop myself". He said with a grin. And I couldn't help but smile at him and looked down. "I'm not complaining". I replied and heard him chuckle. "I knew you wouldn't". He said and I looked up at him. He raised his eyebrows. "What? Don't I know how you feel about me?". He smirked causing my cheeks to be the brightest color of red.I put my hands on my face to stop him from seeing my red face. He chuckled again at my move. I tried to move away from him but he didn't let me. He also removed my hands from my face. "Why are you hiding your face from me? Let me see your beautiful face". He said and I looked in his eyes.
He held my hand and led me to sit on the bed. He sat beside me and we were sitting so close that I could feel his heat. "Melanie, I don't know how you will react on what I'm about to tell you. But I don't want to have any regrets in my life.. so I'm just going to say it. Ok?". He asked holding my hands. I nodded at him.
I felt my heart going to burst out of me, I knew exactly what he was about to say. "I've fallen in love with you". He completed his sentence and I smiled. I didn't said a word. I didn't know what to say or maybe I just wanted him to go on.
"I love you so much. I can't imagine my days without you".He continued. "I love you too Noah". I said as soon as I gathered enough courage. I saw his tensed face fixing into a beautiful relaxing smile. "Really?". He asked happily to which I nodded. He brought my hands closer to his lips and kissed my hands.
"You don't know Melanie how I feel about you. The day I met you was the luckiest day of my life. You bring smile on my face, you take away my negative energy, your presence is the absence of my dark life. Every pain, every thing that I've been through, I have the power to overcome it because of the thought that you have gone through just as much as me". He said and I took in his words.
"So what do you say? Do you accept me as your man?". He asked, smiling the most beautiful smile I've ever seen in my life. I chuckled and nodded. He came closer to me and kissed my cheek.
Suddenly we heard footsteps and I panicked. I think Noah sensed it because the next moment he hid behind the cupboard. I quickly stood up from the bed and pretended to brush away the dirt on my dress. Abruptly the door to the room opened and I saw Daisy peeked inside.
"Melanie?". She came inside and folded her arms against her chest. "What are you doing here?". "Umm.. I needed to use the restroom". I replied and did my best to not show any signs of panick. Her gaze swept the entire room as if she's looking for someone I shouldn't be around. I followed her gaze.
"Didn't we asked you to stay in our sights? Even if you want to use the restroom, you could've inform us". She said with a neutral tone. "Now let's go, Duncan wants you to meet someone". I let out a deep sigh followed her out of the room. We went back to the ballroom and joined the group where Mr. Duncan was standing. He put his hand on my shoulders.
"This is Melanie, just a random worker of our gang". He said and I arched an eyebrow at him but soon I realised he was trying to keep my identity a secret so I played along. "And Melanie this is Elijah Adams, the leader of Menecions gang". My eyes widened in response, I hesitantly shaked my hand with his. I was looking down as I refused to look at them, the Menecions gang.
"That's my grandson Noah, Noah come here". I heard Elijah calling Noah from a distance. I gulped at his name, I was worried that what might happen if I give off the impression that I already knew the man. I felt a presence infront of me, by his scent I could tell it was him.
"Hi, I'm Noah". I looked up at him and saw him holding out his hand for me to shake it. I extended my hand and managed to subdue a smile.
