I wanted to save the others as well, but I was afraid that I might tip off Mobsters that we are aware of their plan. So I continued to look for Melanie. She was nowhere to be seen. I was crazily going group to group, desperately wanted to spot Melanie somewhere in this ballroom. But she wasn't there. I tried to look for grandpa and saw him telling others about the bomb explosion. I think he could recognize the mobsters gangs much more than me.

End of Noah's POV

While using the restroom, Melanie tucked her phone away in her purse. She was in a location that was quite removed from where the party was actually taking place. The door won't open as she was about to go. She tried repeatedly, but the door appeared to be stuck.

"Is anyone out there? Please open this door, it's stuck". Melanie called multiple times. She knocked even harder this time and kept pulling the door knob but every attempt of escape was going in vain. She took out her phone and dialed Duncan's number.

The number you have dialed is not answering...

Melanie tried Daisy's number but no one was picking. When she was about to dial Noah's number, she heard a loud noise that was unbearable to the ears. It was so loud that Melanie had to cover her ears. The whole room vibrated and the sound of many glasses shattering in pieces made Melanie's heart beat faster than usual. Suddenly many faded screams were filling the powder room.

"Please help me, is anyone out there? Please.. I'm stuck here". Melanie banged on the door and tried to break the door but nothing seemed to work at the moment. Melanie's eyes scanned the whole room in order to look for something that can help her get out of this room.

Meanwhile the entire ballroom was on fire and there was smoke spreading everywhere. The smoke entered the powder room as well. The thick acrid smell of the smoke wouldn't let Melanie breath properly. And the hot ambience and heat caused sweat all over Melanie's body. She could feel heat against the door as if the exterior of the room was already on fire. "Can anybody listen? I'm inside.. Please help me". She shouted.

Tears started forming in her eyes as she couldn't breath properly as if her lungs were giving up after taking in so much smoke. She covered her mouth and coughed violently. With the other hand she kept knocking on the door. The heat caused sweat to scale down her neck. She wiped her sweat with her sleeves.

Soon her legs got numb as well but she used all her strength to stand by the door, trying her best to alarm anyone who is luckily out there. Suddenly she saw fire escalating at the corner of the door.

Melanie abruptly got back from the door and her eyes got widened, thinking that soon this room will be filled with fire

Melanie abruptly got back from the door and her eyes got widened, thinking that soon this room will be filled with fire. Not wanting to quit, she kept pounding on the door until she ran out of breath. Her vision got blurry and everything around her started to whirl.

Lost all her hopes, Melanie slid down against the wall and sat with her knees pressed to her chest, waiting don't know for what...

After a few seconds, there was a familiar voice outside the door. "Melanie?". Someone called. "Are you in their?". He said with coughing in between. Melanie opened her eyes slowly but was too weak to answer. She perceived the voice belonged to Noah. "Melanie? Can you hear me?". Noah asked again while banging on the door. Melanie forced herself to crawl towards the door. When she reached the door she put her hands on it and called out his name but it was more of a whisper. "Noah".
