Chapter 16

Melanie gave Daisy a scared look as she regarded her. Daisy walked closer to her and interrupted her just as she was ready to speak.

"About who?". She asked still crossing her hands. "Huh?". Melanie was aware of her question but pretended she don't know what she's asking. "You told Mia that you wanted to talk about him". Then she stepped even more closer to Melanie.

"Who's him?". Melanie gulped at her question. She stayed mute since she was at a loss for words. "I'm asking something". She scolded and Melanie got even more scared that Daisy's raised voice might call Duncan here as well. "I was talking about Mia's cousin... It's his birthday tomorrow so she was throwing a surprise party for him. And she invited me as well". Melanie replied.

"Cousin huh?". Daisy repeated to which Melanie nodded. "Okay.. fine. Goto your room now". Daisy demanded before leaving Melanie alone on the staircase. Melanie shook her head and headed upstairs.

She dialed Mia's number again. She picked up on the second ring. "Is everything okay?". She asked. "Yeah, Daisy almost heard me talking about Noah".

"Oh my god! Then what happened. Please tell me you saved yourself". "I guess I did". Melanie said and locked her room. She laid on her bed and covered herself with her blanket to avoid getting her voicr out of the room. "Mia.. I've been thinking lately..about finding the truth".

"What truth?". Mia asked in confusion. Melanie sighed before speaking again. "I want to know if my dad really murdered Noah's dad". Melanie said almost whispering. "Okayy.. That's very quick. how will you do it anyways?". Mia asked. "I haven't decided yet, I'm still debating whether to do it or not". Melanie whispered.

"Gosh Melanie.. but whatever you decide please keep me updated. Also I don't think so we can talk about it while you sit at your home. Someone will hear you for sure. Let's meet and talk it out?". Mia asked. "Okay I'll meet you tomorrow".

They both hung up the phone and Melanie shut her eyes. She gradually fell asleep.

Meanwhile...

~Royal Gang~

"Sir we have tried everything to locate John Walker. But he has escaped like he never existed. Nobody knows where he is and he hasn't left much behind him that can help us find him". A member of Royal gang said as he entered their leader's room.

"Tsk Tsk.. you are missing out a major information". The leader said as he stood up from his chair. "What information sir?".

"His daughter. Finding his daughter is equal to finding him. Search for her". The leader suggested. "We'll locate her asap sir".

After four hours..

The sound of  awakened Melanie up. She rubbed her eyes as she rose from her bed. She checked the time. It was 10 pm.

"Shit.. I missed dinner" She thought as she stood up and walked out of her room. Her stomach rumbled indicating her hungerness. She made her way to the kitchen and looked for something to eat. There was nothing left to eat as all the grocceries were out.

Melanie opened the fridge and found nothing but half eaten sandwich and a few carrots. She sighed and closed the fridge. Her eyes darted at some boxes of pizza around the dustbin beside the fridge. Did they forget about me? Okay so they didn't even wake me up for the dinner...

This thought saddened Melanie as she sat on the dining chair. As her stomach continued to growl, she decided to grab something from any resturaunt. She made her way out of the building.
