"Princess?"
"Heyyyy."
Monty flinched at the slurring of her speech, sitting up in bed.
"Where's Tony?"
"I dunno I lost him back at the, uh, the um, the party."
"Party?"
"There was this college thing and he invited me so I went."
"Do you recognize anything around you?"
"There's a road."
"Shocker. Are there any street signs?"
"There's, uh, one. It says Cornis, wait no. Celina? Cornelius? Cornelia, I think that's it."
"I think I know where that is. Stay there, okay?"
"But I'm so tired."
Monty let out a sigh, tugging on his tennis shoes with his phone tucked between his shoulder and cheek. He grabbed at his keys, glad to see his dad fast asleep on the couch as he hurried out.
"I know you're tired, Deej, but please stay there. Go to the street sign, okay? Don't hang up, I'll be there soon."
"You're so nice, Addy."
Though the grogginess in her voice worried him, he couldn't help but laugh.
"Thanks, DJ. Just please try to stay awake for me, okay?"
"Mkay..."
