Present day
Rebecca
I opened my eyes and the bright light blinded me, I quickly realise my surroundings. I'm sitting on the floor next to his grave, I grab the half empty vodkas bottle and I shove it into my bag.
"I'll be back soon Dad, I promise. I won't stay away for almost two years, but I've got to go. I've got to figure something out..."
I wiped away yesterdays makeup and walked out of the graveyard, I placed the board onto the ground and just rode.

3 weeks later...
Seth
I sat down in chemistry and as I expected her seat is empty, her name still gets called on the register so she hasn't dropped out. I try to focus on the work but my mind keeps trailing to where she could be? Or if she's in trouble, what if she needs my help. I try to get some work done but I can't concentrate, I just want the bell to ring so I can get out of chemistry. Fuck knows why I took chemistry, I hate the subject. The screeching of the chair to my right startles me, I notice Bayley has just walked in.
"Sir I need to take Seth."
"Will he be gone the entire lesson?"
"Yeah."
"Alright Seth grab your stuff, remember to have a look at topic C3.56."
"Yeah alright, thanks sir."
I walk out into the corridor and I shoot Bayley a confused look.
"You'll see in a minute just follow me!"
We walk out into the courtyard and I hear cheers and boos, fuck me Sasha hasn't gotten into another fight has she? We turn a corner and I see Rebecca punching Josh.
"What the fuck?"
"She turned up here about ten minutes ago, Josh said something to her and then she started to beat the shit out of him. Fuck knows what was said but I advise you stop them."
"Me!?"
"Who else you idiot!"
I walked towards Becky and as I got closer I saw the cuts on her face more clearly, I can see that her knuckles are busted and she's covered in blood. I walk towards them and I hear the cheers start to die down. I lift Becky up and pull her away, I can feel her wrestling to get free but I'm not going to put her down.
"Yeah that's right, walk away Pussy!"
I turned to look back and Josh and saw just how busted up he looks, god I never want to get in a fight with her.
"Come on the school will just expel you if you stay now, I don't live far from here so let's go."
I placed her onto the ground and began to walk towards the tall metal gate.
"I didn't agree asshole."
"Maybe you can catch up on all the chemistry you've missed."
She slowly started to follow behind me, I climbed over the fence and jumped down the other side.
"Need a hand."
She shook her head and jumped over the fence, only slightly catching her ankle on the metal on top. The sleeve of her jacket slid up slightly and I only managed to see one purplely yellow bruise on her before she pulled her sleeves down. We walked slowly through my neighbourhood until we reached my house.
"Isn't anyone home?"
Her voice startled me as she'd been silent the entire time.
"No, my parents have gone on a cruise to try and rebuild their marriage or some shit. Anyone welcome to my home."
I switched the light on and I watched Rebecca's eyes go wide, I will say my house is pretty big so it is a little shocking at first glance.
"So what do you want to do? We can watch a film or play some video games."
She shrugged her shoulders and walked into my kitchen, she poured herself a glass of water and looked through my cupboards until she found some paracetamol. She quickly took two and discarded the empty packet.
"Do you always watch people or is it just me?"
Her question makes me go red with embarrassment.
"Uh...I...um I like to observe people."
"Right. Where's your bathroom?"
"Oh it's down the hall on the left."
She slipped down the hallway and the room fell silent, I began to find myself becoming more curious about what Josh said to her earlier. It must have been bad because she was so fucking pissed.
"Rebecca?"
She stopped in her tracks and glared at me.
"Don't call me that, I'm Becky to you."
"Oh...uh Becky it is then. Where have you been?"
"Around, nowhere and everywhere."
I looked at her with a look of pure confusion and she filled the room with a soft giggle.
"I couldn't be arsed for school, in all honesty. What were you worried about me Rollins?"
My face grew red and she started to giggle again.
"My just teasing, is it alright if I crash here tonight?"
"Yeah."
I spoke quickly, my eyebrows knitted in confusion. How can she be so different?
