"... going up is much easier than going down."

-The Pit and the Pendulum, Edgar Allan Poe

......

In the afternoon of a new day, I dropped my shoulders as I walked out of my humble room, dressed up as my daily routine, and my steps down the corridors of the castle, into the room of my target, Count Jeon, with my more and more bruised custody.

My wet nose emphasized to me that I was getting colder and colder, and I attributed this to at most an hour spent in Count Jeon's cold bed last night.  My immune system was pretty weak.  I would pick up moisture from the air, and I had no prayer against the fact that this cold condition did not go any further.

The sun would give the castle the same with its rising or setting;  Dark.  It was taking over so quickly that dark corridors had taken me to question whether the sun had ever risen here when I paused and thought for just a moment.

As my step sounds echoed on the blank walls, it instantly caught my attention when I walked past the hall door, with the voice of another person involved in this echo.  Although I did not want to get into much trouble, one could not stop listening to this conversation.

A male voice, which I am sure I have heard before, the voice of Count Kim Namjoon, spoke as I stood on the doorstep and listened;  "There's a mood nowadays, Mi amoruccio. (My dear.) What is it that drags your soul to such gloom?"

Although I do not know the meaning of the foreign word he used, he used it so hot that I could hear the inside of the other person.  He seemed both troubled and sighing from the magic of the beauty that the word gives.

"You know, I'm not too open to conversation, if you're not the one I'm chatting with."  A male voice said in response.  "Still, I would like to keep my troubles in me. Nice, you feel in every way. Inima mea îți aparține. (My heart is yours.)"

His last sentence was a special Romanian sentence.  If two people have strong feelings for each other and there is a strong bond between them, he would use this phrase.  It wasn't as simple and light as everyday sentences to say.  It was used very, very hard.  As I understand from here, the person who responded was a purebred Romanian.

"Come on, what could you be hiding from your spouse?"  As Count Kim Namjoon spoke as though he wanted to persuade, my eyes were wide open and my attention hung on that little detail;

Spouse.

When the two people who were speaking were both men and one called the other my wife and used sentences containing strong love bonds, I was shocked and my astonishment caused me to open my lips.

"I don't hide it, darling. I just don't have a word to explain the distress in me. Occasionally, it's a bother to the heart, I say something like that."  The other man said towards Count Namjoon.  Then he let out another troubled breath.

"Che giorno è oggi? (What day is it today?)"

Count Kim Namjoon's blatant elongations and strokes of words were not waxing like French, not harsh like Spanish, and with clearer words I understood, that was Italian.  Rather than a foreigner from abroad, he spoke this language much, much more competently than Romanian.  Obviously, she was her mother tongue.  Count Kim Namjoon was a truly Italian.
