Harry was sitting in the common room with Hermionie and Ron doing his potions homework. It was past midnight, Harry had finally called it quits on his potions homework. Being too frustrated and distracted made him not get very far on it. Harry started gathering his books and paper, leaning over his chair to put them in his bag.
Ron was dozing off in his chair when all of a sudden he jerked his head up and said "Sirius!"
Harry whipped his head around to see none other than his godfather with a wide smile on his face.
They all got up from their seats and rushed over to the fine place and sat on there knees huddled in front of the fire."Hi," said Sirius grinning.
"Hi," all three of them said together.
"How're things?" said Sirius.
"Not that good," said Harry, "The Ministry's forced through another decree, which means we're not allowed to have Quidditch teams —"
"— or secret Defense Against the Dark Arts groups?" said Sirius.
There was a short pause. Harry didn't remember any letter that he had written that said anything about the club or ever telling Sirius anything about it. "How did you know about that?" Harry demanded.
"You want to choose your meeting places more carefully," said Sirius, grinning still more broadly. "The Hog's Head, I ask you . . ."
"Well, it was better than the Three Broomsticks!" said Hermione defensively. "That's always packed with people —"
"— which means you'd have been harder to overhear," said Sirius. "You've got a lot to learn, Hermione."
"Who overheard us?" Harry demanded.
"Mundungus, of course," said Sirius, and when they all looked puzzled he laughed. "He was the witch under the veil."
"That was Mundungus?" Harry said, stunned. "What was he doing in the Hog's Head?"
"What do you think he was doing?" said Sirius impatiently. "Keeping an eye on you, of course."
"I'm still being followed?" asked Harry angrily.
"Yeah, you are," said Sirius, "and just as well, isn't it, if the first thing you're going to do on your weekend off is organize an illegal defense group."
But he looked neither angry nor worried; on the contrary, he was looking at Harry with distinct pride.
Harry hated the fact that he was still being followed and the fact that Sirius agreed with it just made him more frustrated. Maybe Sirius just wanted to keep tabs on him while he was away Harry thought. But the overarching feeling that no one seemed to trust him kept flooding his mind and he couldn't help but have thoughts that Sirius might not trust him.
"By the way Ron" Sirius said looking over at Ron "Your mother has told me to relay a messenger to you."
"Oh yeah" Ron said, raising one of his eyebrows.
"She said that you are to take no part in this secret DADA group and that if you do you will most likely get expelled and ruin the rest of your future and also that there is plenty of time to learn how to defend yourself later in life."
"Does she say anything else?" Ron question sounding annoyed.
"She also advises that Harry and Hermionine not take part in this ethier, but understands that she has no real control over both of you and can not control your actions. But says she just has your best interest at heart."
Ron looked down at the carpet and started running his fingers across it "So you want me to say that I will not have any part in this."
"Me!," said Sirius surprised "Currently not!, I think it's a wonderful idea"
