Chapter 2 : Prologue part 2

In the year 2004, portals started appearing throughout the world. The first ones appeared in the city of London, then slowly those portals started to appear everywhere else. Like poison, the locations started spreading to the entire planet, and out of them, monsters started coming with only but one goal... The goal of exterminating all life from planet earth. Humans, animals, and even plants, wherever these monsters went the only thing that remained was barren land.

Within the first few months, the entire region of northeast Europe was gone... All the armies in the world united and out of them, 4 countries, namely the United States of America, China, India, and North Korea launched all their nuclear weapons on to the monsters with the other countries serving as backup and support to the above-mentioned countries which had sacrificed all their nuclear weapons for the greater good.

The only thing was that from the pictures taken from satellites it was evident that not one of the enemies was killed... Japan quickly developed the technology to locate these monsters and the portals they were appearing from... And from those people who were emanating the same sort of energy were located throughout the planet...

Many such people were sent with the mission of saving the world and after 3 weeks, the teams consisting of people from all sorts of walks of life achieved victory.

But the information that they brought back was nothing less than horrifying...

" They just won't die..."

A man who was among those first heroes of the world, people who later came to be known as 'hunters', said this with a face full of horror.

The man still remembered the ways many of his comrades died.

" Killing or Murder aren't terms that can describe what happened to the others that couldn't make it back."

Creatures akin to those from fantasy came out of those portals. Werewolves, vampires, centaurs, monstrous insects, etc....

People who went to fight but didn't return suffered the fate of being butchered to pieces, being eaten alive, or being melted away by acid among other ways.

But there were two pieces of information which were the most shocking. One was the fact that all of those creates regenerated all their wounds as if nothing happened to them. Reports claim that all of them had one thing in common.

Instead of being made of flesh and bones or even exoskeletons... They all seemed as if they were made of shadows itself.

And two, that out of all those monsters there was always the one who was the strongest out of them all and that single one could do one thing that was the most horrific of them all. It would say one word, " Yield ", and all of your friends, the people you knew, and even the animals which you took care of as pets would turn against you to end your life. And as long as you don't kill that one at least 3 times the others which came with it and ones it gained after it came here would stop at nothing until they had your head.
