"Hahaha... Look dear, our boy's got himself a girlfriend.. Hahahaha."
"Dad, it's not like that!!!"
"Yeah, sure, sure... Why not??? You know you're lucky to have parents like us... I mean who the hell does this??? Hahahaha."
Surya and his family were having dinner. It's been a few days since the day they had met again but it was the first day after Asha had moved.
The dining room looked unusually lively after a very long time. His dad was teasing both of them and all Asha could do was have her face as red as an apple. And although it made them a little uncomfortable, Surya was feeling happy after seeing his dad so cheerful.
'When was the last time when my dad was laughing like this??'
He then looks at his mom sitting beside his father serving the food to the rest of them.
'She is smiling too. My mom is happy.'
He almost started tearing up when,
"Come on son, don't start crying like this in front of a girl. I was just joking... Look at him, looks like we didn't teach him to be funny..."
"Well, like father like son..."
His mother calmly replied.
Kekw
A chuckle came out of Asha's mouth, while Surya started laughing.
"Yeah, old man!!! You're just a loser like your son!!! Hahahaha"
Surya continued to laugh for a moment before realising what he just said.
"Wait... Mom!!!!"
And everyone started laughing even louder as Surya put on a frown. But inside his mind though, there was one thing that he was thinking,
'This is good.'
............................
Years passed as Surya started to compete at the national and the international level, while Asha rejoined her school next year, and then she joined a nearby university to complete her education.
It was the year 2010, three years before the Olympics which had been delayed a year after the entire gate incident. The entire world was still catching up on a lot of things, plus the emergence of hunters created a new problem.
On average, an E rank hunter is lower in terms of physical capabilities when compared to professional athletes but their durability and regeneration stay much higher. Being D rank basically confirms that no normal human no matter how strong or how fast can catch up to you. You're basically a four-wheeler by yourself.
Hunters can't increase their performance levels. But when someone awakens in their childhood, they usually aren't strong enough to use their power. So, even when their actual mana reserves aren't increasing, by the looks of it, their performance levels increase until they are all grown up.
And here lied Surya's problem. He was getting too strong.
"Looks like you're ok kid."
The doctor who was carrying out Surya's doping tests gave him is results and Surya worriedly replies,
"Are you sure?? A lot of people keep telling me that I'm an awakened or something called a false ranker."
"I'm aware of that... But, if you were one, this syringe I used for your blood tests won't even penetrate your skin. Even an E ranker needs mana enhanced syringes especially made by the Chaos denizens."
