Calloused fingertips tracing a fragile perianth,
dewy mist dampening the brittle folds.
Drawing a kind smile from the host,
reminiscing on the long-gone youth.
With the steady fall of raindrops on her skin
while she closes her eyes and feels.
The feeling so foreign yet familiar,
she lets the scent of the earth engulf her whole
overwhelming with the power it holds over you.
Remorse coming undone within
you can’t find what you need until you’ve had it once.
The answers you long for is right in front of you
in the nature you are born to cherish,
in a world that gives so less yet takes too much.
With selfish desires clouding the skies,
it all drizzles down, ascending on the bleak minds.
Unleashing it’s wrath and misery from above
while caressing the beauty that lays within.
Her pride cascades down the drain,
the fragile façade broken through
by the softest touch of her tears.
Her sorrow knows no end, it shadows her worries
looms after, then fades into nothingness.
The void back in place, where it always belonged.
Unfulfilled, unquenchable as it weighs her down;
escapes thee as it cascades down.
She slips away through your fingertips
faster than you can see, farther than you can go.
Her mind running a mile in circles
concentre us even though the shreds are far apart.
Your eyes lit up the scorching light
burning my long burnt-out soul,
The past ashes forgotten by the brightness
enough to drown out the unforgiving pain.
The torrent cascades down,
drowning in me once again.
With the fresh tears running farther
while I’m dancing alone in the rain.
