idyllic, the night glowed with promise and surprise
wheels in the mind turned as the moon blinked
evil lurked in the corner, smirking at the girl in the blue dress
even with her smarts (those glasses!), she could not resist his wink
"you look pretty confused," he says, handing her a glass
and with that, it seemed like he bore right through her eyes
