step outside and look around
green, everywhere you look
it may be mixed with some gray
the paths and streets human set out
for themselves in an attempt to tame
the green beast but the vibrant color remains
stubborn, unyielding, wanting only to live
while others live to destroy it, decimate its beauty
the natural world should not be melded
by these rampant hands, by these conquering minds
let mother nature live, lest we go down with her
