fill the bath with water
(not all the way)The rushing water
Soothes your ears
But you're not focused on that
The ceaseless thoughts protrude
And show their hideous heads(torment, torture, punishment)
Submerge thy self within
Receive your awaited baptism
Slowly, but surely, into the dripping cold(arms curled around legs
head craning forward)
The water cradles your face
as it patiently, as though
it has known
this
had to arrive at some point,
Accepts your descent
Open your mouth
and screamThis is all you have left
