Pokemon: New Saga

Chapter 2: First Encounters

We continue with our heroes on their way to Trower Town to get Izaiah's first gym badge. "So this route takes us to Trower Town faster right?" Izaiah asked Paul as they walked through a route that has a dirt and gravel path next to trees on each side. "Well this is the route Professor Redwood said to take," Paul says as he walks alongside his Bulbasaur. "So Paul have you ever caught a pokemon or ever battled at the lab?" Izaiah asks Paul. "No, I have never battled a pokemon or caught one either. When I got Bulbasaur from the professor he was more of a companion of mine and one of my only friends aside from the professor." Paul said to Izaiah while looking at Bulbasaur. "Well guess what...you have a friend in me now," Izaiah says with a smile on his face. "In that case as a friend I have to ask you a question." Paul said to Izaiah, "Yeah. what is it?" Izaiah asks with a concerned face, "Will you help me catch a pokemon?" Paul asked Izaiah. "Of course Paul I'll help you as long as you help me as well with finding and catching one aswell," Izaiah said, grabbing a pokeball out of his backpack.

"Ok let's go find some pokemon then!" Paul said, excited to catch a pokemon. "Don't we have to get to Trower Town gym first?" Izaiah asked with confusion, "Well from what I gathered the Gym Leader will have at least three pokemon and one will have a Z-move turn and a Dynamax pokemon. So it won't hurt to have an extra pokemon to have for the battle." Paul said while also getting a pokeball out of his bag. "Well ok, then but the question is what will be our first pokemon?" Izaiah asked Paul, "Well let's just see what's here first and then see what pokemon to catch." Paul said while looking around the area. While they looked they saw some pokemon like Wurmples, Butterfrees, and some small bird pokemon flying around. Then Paul saw a lone Pidgey land nearby on a tree near the walking path. "Ok, I found my first pokemon." Paul said as he got ready to throw his pokeball, "POKEBALL GO!" Paul shouted while throwing his pokeball. The pokeball hit the Pidgey turning the pokemon into red energy and the pokeball then absorbed the pokemon's red energy and then the pokeball closed. "I got it!" Paul shouted excitedly, "Wait, the ball is wobbling." Izaiah said with a concerned look on his face, "It's trying to escape!" Izaiah shouted in realization. They watch in fear of the pokemon breaking out as they see the ball wobbling. It wiggles once...it wiggles twice..then out of nowhere the Pidgey breaks out of the ball.

"Why didn't that work?" Paul asked Izaiah with confusion in his voice. "Maybe try battling it then throw the pokeball." Izaiah suggested to Paul. "Ok, I'll try then. Bulbasaur let's go!" Paul said to his Bulbasaur while it got ready to battle the Pidgey. "Wait...Paul Bulbasaur is at a disadvantage against Pidgey. Be careful." Izaiah warned Paul while observing the battle. "Got it thanks Izaiah. Now quick Bulbasaur use Vine Whip!" Paul tells Bulbasaur and as those orders were giving vines come out of the back of the bulb on Bulbasaur's back "Saur!" the pokemon said as he sent the vines on its back after the Pidgey. Then the Pidgey rushed the Bulbasaur dodging the vines and then hitting him by tackling. "Was that the move Tackle?" Paul asked, "If that is the only attacking move he knows that I think you'll have an easier time than." Izaiah said as he continued to observe the battle with Litten on his side.

"Well in that case Bulbasaur use Tackle as well then," Paul tells Bulbasaur. "Saur!" he responded while he ran towards the Pidgey. Then Pidgey tried to dodge the Tackle but got hit by Bulbasaur at the last second. "Ok now hold him in place with Vine Whip," Paul said with confidence in his voice. Then vines came out of his back and grabbed the Pidgey and slammed him to the ground. The Pidgey then got up but before he could fully recover, then Paul got ready to throw a pokeball again. "POKEBALL GO!" Paul shouted once more and then threw the pokeball at the Pidgey and just like before the pokeball hit the Pidgey turning the pokemon into red energy and the pokeball then absorbed the pokemon's red energy and then the pokeball closed. But instead of assuming that he had caught him, he instead waited as the pokeball wobbled. It wiggled once...it wiggles twice...it wiggles three times...*click* Pidgey was caught. "I...I can't believe it...I CAUGHT MY FIRST POKEMON!" Paul said happily as he picked up Pidgey's pokeball. "Well, congratulations Paul you caught your first pokemon before me. Good job." Izaiah said to Paul while he high-fived him.
