"Fabien you can't - seriously over - ugh!"

Shaun paced his room as he held the phone to his ear, Fabien shouting on the other end of the line as Shaun tried to get a word in. It had not been the greatest couple of months between the two and this fresh wave of fight was triggered by Shaun pointing out how feminine Fabien was with the incessant commentary on how his mannerisms reflected a woman's. Fabien had became feral without any lead to it and stormed off on Shaun, abandoning their date and disappearing from the usual places - Shaun had checked to know that.

Holding himself hostage, Fabien gave no detail about his whereabouts but didn't hold back on airing out how annoyed and hurt he was by Shaun. Shaun stopped pacing and looked at the phone.

"How can you seriously be this upset? And how childish are you to shout at me over the phone? Are you serious?"

"Childish? Really Shaun? If any one of us is childish, it's you with your insatiable need to be a moron when I am trying to communicate with you!"

"A moron? You just huffed out of there without telling me! You never said anything before-"

"That's the thing Shaun, you can't even pay attention to me. I always have to say and tell and show, but you fucking get to trample over me without asking if I am offended by-"

"Offended? Are you offended?"

"Fuck you Shaun!"

"Well, that is offensive!" Shaun retorted, rolling his eyes as he sat on his bed and rubbed his left temple with his free hand.

"I can't keep doing this," Fabien's voice quivered, the anger subsiding.

"We agree on something there," Shaun covered his eyes with that free hand.

"Lose my number Shaun. Let's break up."

Shaun froze. He hadn't come to that conclusion and all of him tensed as the words set in. They had just passed their four year mark together but instead of celebrating, Fabien was making a different proposal. Shauns' bottom lip shook but he bit it as he stood up and closed his eyes. He had enough. His hand tightened on the phone and he let a moment of silence pass by before he heard Fabien take a shaky breath in. Before anything more could be thought of, Shaun took a deep breath to steady himself.

"Fine," Shaun cut the call and threw the phone to the wall.

It smashed with the force.

In that moment, it were as if the phone was a symbol of Shauns' heart - shattered. Although his focus was now on his lungs as the whole mood had triggered an anxiety attack. Shaun left the room and walked to the bathroom, placing his palms on the wall above his head as he struggled to take in air. His eyes glossed over and he coughed a bit, lowering to his knees as he started to cry. The gentle sobs gave way to taking in bigger breaths. He needed to get to his medication but right now, he felt like he had lost a part of him.

Impulsively but mutually, Shaun and Fabien decided to end it through a phone call.

Where do they go now after four years of sharing time?

Well... I'm just curious too.
