i startled when i heard your voice.
i turned my head and looked at you.

and with every sob you make, i get hurt.
i don't want to see you cry.
because for me your tears are a sacred one.
you don't deserve to cry.
because you deserve to be happy.
so since then i have not let you cry.
i didn't let you cry.
because i don't want to see you cry.
but you are here, hugging me.

i clenched my fist.
and i hate that.
i pulled away from your hug as i looked at your face.
they have no right to make you cry.
you don't deserve that.
all you deserve is to be happy.
you don't deserve to be hurt.
