Laurens was finally being released from the hospital, with the conditions that he stayed rested for a few more days. If he didn't, he would most likely still be sick by Halloween, which was only a few days away. He was... let's just say he wasn't happy that all he could do was sit around all day. He was staying with the Washingtons so they could make sure that he obeyed the doctors orders. The Schuyler sisters were planning for their annual Halloween party again this year, and were very very busy. They always went over the top to make sure it was a great night. Their mother did the same before she passed.

"Daddy?" Eliza asked. "Would it be ok if we hired a..."

"As long as it's not a stripper, exotic dancer, or a clown, it's ok." Philip answered.

"Thank... wait did you say clown?"

"YOU WILL NOT HIRE A CLOWN!!!"

"Ok then." Eliza laughed. (This was my sister when we had a Halloween party last year. We had a clown picture, but no real clown ;)

Eliza walked down the hall to Peggy's room. Peggy always did her planning in her room. "Hey, did you finish with the guest list?"

"Nope. Didnt even get started." Peggy answered, not taking her eyes off of the laptop in her hands.

"Are you serious? What have you been doing literally all day?" Eliza questioned.

"It's complicated. Just ask someone else to do it." Peggy replied.

"I can't. I'm busy and so is Angelica. She's also six months pregnant." Eliza stated.

"What about Kitty? She said she wanted to help, didn't she?"

"Fine, I'll ask her." Eliza said suspiciously. "So what's complicated?"

"I can't really explain this right now, I'll show you later." Peggy said, again, not looking up at her.

Eliza just shrugged her shoulders and left, still however curious as to what Peggy was up to. Peggy never did this. She was the most controlling out of all of them, and always wanted to be apart of it and would complain if she wasn't. When she was little, she used to ask her mother if she could do certain things, and then ask to do more on top of that. Anyone who knew Peggy would have to admit that this was strange.
Eliza decided to go talk to Angelica.

"What are you doing?" Eliza asked.

"I'm pregnant. When I feel like eating, I eat." Angelica shoved a cupcake in her mouth. "Don't worry, this is just a sample batch."

"Ok. Do you think Peggy is up to something?" Eliza questioned.

"I'm not sure. Does she seem weird?" Angelica stated.

"She told me to give Kitty one of her tasks for the Halloween party." Eliza explained.

"No!" Ange was just as shocked as Eliza was. "What was she doing all day?"

"I'm not sure, that's why I think she's up to something. She wouldn't show or tell me. It's suspicious." Eliza said.

"Perhaps. But to be fair, it is a possibility that she was just doing homework and she isn't up to anything."

"Since when has Peggy cared more about homework then planning a party? Not just a party, but the Halloween party we plan every year and have planned every year since I was born."

"That is a good point. Perhaps it has something to do with a certain strapping young fellow who just got out of the hospital?" Angelica suggested.

"Maybe you're on to something, but right now it doesn't really matter. The party is in a few days and we are one Schuyler short." Eliza complained.

"Well, maybe you should talk to Kitty."

"Are you sure?"

"Give her a chance."

"Fine, I'll give her a call."

Laurens was just chilling on the couch. The tv was on and he was watching the Office. It was then that he heard the doorbell. He tried to stand up and get it, but Martha came in and stopped him.

"Rest! Teenagers." She joked. She walked over to the door and opened it. Of course, it was Peggy. "Hello sweetheart!"

"Hey Mrs. Washington, I was just..." Peggy began, but was cut off.

"It's ok, come on in." Martha replied sweetly.

Peggy smiled and stepped inside the house. "How is Laurens?"

"Fine, but no one seems to believe him." She heard a voice from the couch.

"Well I guess that's unfortunate." Peggy joked.

"What brings you here?" Laurens asked.

"Well, I went to the coffee shop, and they just so happened to have a buy a coffee get a maple donut free thing." Peggy said as she held up a small paper bag.

"Awe, you're so..." He was interrupted.

"And I wanted you to watch me eat it."

Lauren's rolled his eyes. He knew she preferred boston cream donuts over anything.

"I'm just messing with you." She threw him the bag. "Eat!"

"Thank you." He smiled.

"Sorry to cut things short, but I promised to help my sisters plan our Halloween party." Peggy started. "And you better be well enough to go by then. So please just listen to us, and get some rest?"

"Fine, but you have to bring me another donut tomorrow."

"Deal." Peggy shook his hand and turned to leave. "Goodbye Mr. and Mrs. Washington!" She called out.

"Bye Peggy." They both answered simultaneously.

Peggy smiled and left the house. As soon as she was gone, Martha spoke up.

"Well, she seems to be visiting often."

"What does that mean?" Laurens asked.

"She still likes you." Washington answered for her.

"What? No. We're just friends." Laurens said all defensive.

"She called off her engagement as soon as she found out you were sick, and now she visits you everyday." George continued.

"That doesn't mean anything."

"Well, do you like her?" Martha chimed back in.

"Really?"

"So you do?" Washington laughed.

"Ugh!!!"

"I'm just saying, she would make a nice daughter-in-law."

"What if I don't? What if I like someone else?"

"Hypothetically, that would be fine." Washington stated.

"Thank you."

"Hypothetically."

"Fine! And what if I do like her?"

"Then Alexander owes me five bucks." George chuckled. Martha glared at him. "It was only five dollars. I swear I'm not a gambler."

"I'm sorry, you made bets on my love life?" Laurens asked.

"Well... I mean, you're not exactly good at hiding your emotions. It did take me a little longer to see that she liked you back though."

"It's nothing to be embarrassed about." Martha said.

Lauren's just rolled his eyes. The one good thing about him not having parents for so long, was that he could escape awkward conversations. Can't do that anymore.

"Are you going to tell her?" Martha asked.

"No. Just because I still like her doesn't mean I want to be with her. She cheated on me with Stephen, I don't want to go through that again." Laurens reminded them.

"We understand. We just want you to be happy." Martha said.

"Thank you."
