"WHAT THE H*LL IS THE MATTER WITH YOU!!!" Henry screamed at him

Laurens didn't know what was happening, he just watched the scene unfold.

"I try and supply a nice apartment, and send you to school everyday so you could get an education, and this is how you thank me?!?!?!" Henry yelled again.

"Nice? This place is dirty and constantly reeks of beer." Laurens stated in a confused tone. He had this weird feeling. Like this had all happened before. He was taken out of his thoughts by his father's fist going into his face.

"You ungrateful little brat!" Henry screamed. He then walked over and grabbed John's arm and dragged him across the room. He threw him to the ground and kicked his face. He grabbed a plate and smashed it on the back of his head. Blood drenched the boy's hair as if it was completely soaked.

"Please. D-Dad?" Laurens whimpered. "P-Please?"

"You got a big mouth kid. So let me shut you up!!!" Henry kicked his face and arms repeatedly.

"I-I'm sorry. I can't take any more." Laurens begged.

"Henry, you're getting blood all over the floor." Rachel complained.

"Oh sweetheart, you haven't seen nothing yet." Henry smirked.

"Hello! Somebody help me, please!" Laurens tried to yell. "Please!!!"

Henry shoved a cloth in his mouth.
"You think this is bad? I'm just getting started." He walked over and grabbed a baseball bat. Laurens looked at him with fear in his eyes. The fear turned to tears when the bat came down on his leg.

"Mmh!!!!"

Henry pulled the cloth out of his mouth. "Try again. I want to hear your screams!"

"AHHHHH!!!!!!" Laurens screamed.

Henry then grabbed him by his arm and dragged him all the way up the stairs. "Congratulations! From now on you will go to school, clean the house, then spend the rest of the day locked in your room!!!!!" He slammed the door and locked it.

"AHHH!!!" John moaned. He couldn't withstand the pain any longer. He broke down in tears, not knowing what else to do. It seemed like he was in there for hours before a friendly voice greeted him.

"Laurens?" Alexander asked, quiet enough that John's father wouldn't hear.

"Alex? You have to get out of here. If my father..." John began, but Alex cut him off.

"Ok, unlock the door and we'll all leave together." Alexander didn't care.

"I can't. It's locked from the outside."

"But there's no lock here. Only a key hole." He heard another familiar voice.

"You brought Eliza?!?!? You guys have to get out of here."

"Eliza, give me a hair pin." Alexander said. Laurens heard the sound of something go into the key hole before the door creaked open.

"Come on." Alexander said softly. Laurens looked up at him and could tell he was processing John's appearance. "We got to go. Now!"

"Then what?" Laurens questioned. "We call the police, I'm sent right back here."

"We go to Washington, he'll contact CPS or something." Alexander grabbed his arm. Laurens stood up, but then immediately fell to the ground.

"Right. I'm pretty sure something in my leg is broken." He winced in pain. Alexander helped him up and he and Eliza helped him downstairs.

It wasn't until Alexander had stopped moving that Laurens realized his father stood before him. He was still drunk off his wits.
