Stuck In A Moment

Labor.

A/N: I hurt my thumb nail. I'm also writing this in the morning (cause my family sleeps soooooo late.) and I'm writing it entirely with my right index finger. So... And just a reminder, Laurens is John Laurens and John is John Church.

New Years came and went and everyone was starting to adjust to the new year. Alexander and Laurens tried to be more honest with each other, and everything was back to normal. Well... almost normal.

"John?" Angelica asked. "I think my water just broke."

"Really?" John jumped up out of his chair at the news. "I'm gonna be a dad?"

"Honey, I love you. And I know you're excited, but would you DRIVE ME TO THE HOSPITAL?!?!?!?" Angelica started breathing heavily.

"Right, right." John nodded as he ran to the cabinet and grabbed the car keys. "I'm gonna be a dad."

They both drove to the hospital and the doctors immediately helped Angelica to the fertility ward of the place. After she was taken back, John called the rest of the Schuyler family to let them know they were about to welcome the newest member of their family.

"I called your family, Ange. Everyone will be here soon. Including Richard." John laughed.

"Ok." Angelica panted out of breath. "Here we go."

Eliza went to see Alexander when she got the call.

"Alex! We got to go." She gasped.

Alexander looked up at her with a look of confusion on his face. "What? What's wrong?"

"It's not wrong for say." Eliza began. "But my sister did just go into labor, and I need to be there for her."

"Oh." Alexander was shocked. "Ok then."

They both got up and left for the hospital immediately and were the first of the family members to arrive.

"Excuse me," Eliza asked. "We're here for Angelica Church."

"Oh," The woman at the front desk smiled. "She's in labor now. Are you one of her sisters?"

"Yes. I'm Eliza." Eliza smiled back at her.

"Good. She did say before she went back that her two sisters and father would probably show up soon." The woman explained. "I'll let you know as soon as the baby arrives."

"Thank you." Eliza replied before going to take a seat.

"I don't think I've ever been in a fertility ward before." Alexander laughed. "Sorry if that was random, but I'm just thinking out loud."

"Nah, I get it." Eliza nodded. "And besides, why would you have been here before? You don't have any biological younger siblings. And the person who's always bringing us to the hospital can't give birth."

"I heard that!" Eliza and Alexander looked up to see Peggy and Laurens walk through the door.

"I'm not saying it's a bad thing." Eliza giggled.

"I'm just messing with you." Laurens smirked. "Any news?"

"The doctor said she's in labor right now." Eliza explained. "Hey Peg."

Peggy walked over and gave her a hug. "Hey. Our sister's having a baby!"

They both jumped up and down as they cheered.

"Heh, they do realise it's not gonna be their baby, right?" Alexander joked.

"After what happened with Maria's baby? I wouldn't put it past them." Laurens chuckled.

"Where's daddy?" Eliza asked.

"He said he couldn't reach John so he called me and said he was about an hour away." Peggy explained.

"Ok. Oh, I can't wait." Eliza started jumping up and down again.

"I can't imagine what she's gonna do when she has my child." Alexander stated. Laurens started laughing.

"You'd be lucky to touch it for the first few days." Laurens laughed.

The wait seemed like forever before the doctor finally came out with the update.

"She's done. You can go see them now." She smiled.

The two sisters ran into the room while Alexander and Laurens casually walked up. They all entered the room to see Angelica holding a healthy baby boy.

"Hey." She smiled.

Peggy and Eliza were screaming in silence. Trying not to wake the baby.

"Not to sound pushy, but I do remember you saying that you had two middle names picked out for him, and I wanted to take this time to remind you that Stephen is in prison." Alexander stated.

Angelica started laughing. "Yes. Everyone meet Richard Hamilton Church."

Alexander punched the air.

"And you mock me?" Eliza teased.

"Fair." Alexander sighed.

"Where's daddy?" Angelica asked.

"He called and said he's about an hour away. But that was about ten minutes ago so about 50 minutes." Peggy explained. "Can I hold him?"

Angelica nodded and handed Peggy the baby.

"He's so small." Peggy laughed. "With no worries in the world."

"Must be nice." Laurens joked, earning him a slap in the arm from Alexander. "I was just joking. The kid's gonna know soon enough."

"Don't talk to little Hammy like that." Alexander snapped. Everyone stopped to look at him. "Fine. What are you gonna call him?"

"We were thinking Ricky, then when he gets older he can decide what we call him then." Angelica smiled. "Sorry big Hammy."

Alexander rolled his eyes.

Philip Schuyer came down as soon as he could and arrived just under an hour of when he said. He was ecstatic to be a grandfather, but it did make him feel old. He walked into the room and sat down by his daughter.

"Hey, Ange." He smiled brightly.

"Hi, daddy." Angelica smiled back. "You wanna meet your grandson?"

Philip nodded and Angelica gave him the baby. "John, I know you are a good man. And I trust you to take care of my daughter. Now, I trust you to take care of my grandson."

"Trust me, he's only been in the world for an hour, and there's already nothing I wouldn't do for him." John nodded.

"Good." Philip laughed. "I know you'll be a good father."

Alexander walked into the room. He had left to get him and Eliza somthing to eat. He offered to get something for Angelica, but both her and John said they weren't hungry. He closed the door a bit too loudly and the baby started crying.

"You on the other hand," Philip began. "Cheat on my daughter again and you'll never have children."

Alexander was quiet and shocked for a moment. "Did I miss something?"
