Chapter 84

(Kaneki Ken)

"Kaneki.." I heard a low but angry tone behind me.

I turned around and hanged up. It's Touka-chan..

"Touka-chan.."

She dashed towards me and pulled my collar intimidatingly. Her fierce and angry eyes stared right at mine.

"You fought with Ayato, didn't you..?" She asked.

"I did." I answered.

"Why did you go alone?! You could've asked me to go with you!" She angrily yelled.

"Wait. It's not something to be angry about--"

"You idiot! What if he was with other members of Aogiri?! You could've been killed! You were lucky, his subordinates were weak!" She shouted.

"I just didn't call you knowing that you would hesitate to fight with your brother.." I said as I kept my gaze down.

She was shocked at first and her cheeks turned a little red. She calmed down and roughly released me. She punched my chest lightly.

"You idiot.. I would fight him even if he's my brother.." She said in a low tone.

"It's okay, Touka-chan. I think your brother's doing well." I said with a chuckle.

She gritted her teeth at me.

"Shut up!" She angrily yelled.

"Well it's just that, Ayato has been rampaging around and it's troubling because it's causing more doves to get to this area." I said.

"You're right. So, next time, call me and we'll finish him together." She said.

"You say that but, you actually care for you brother." I said to tease her.

"Shut up! You're annoying!" She angrily yelled.

I chuckled at her. She's just being stubborn.

The next day, when I woke up, I tried my best not to wake aniki up and prepared breakfast for him. I quietly prepared myself to school and headed out of his room. I left a note saying that I've already left for school.

When I got out, I got confused on which path to take. I have three paths to choose. Maybe, I'll just try all of them. I looked at my right side and it was divided into another two paths and it's the same on the left side.

I looked in front and it looked worse. It has three. Is this some sort of a maze? The building is too huge for me to remember.

"Ahh~ I'm hungry~ I'm hungry~"

A voice coming from my right echoed in the corridor. That voice sounded like--

"Yukari-chan!~" He vigoriously waved his hand.

Yep, it's Suzuya-kun after all. What's he doing here so early in the morning?

"Good morning, Suzuya-kun." I greeted.

"Hello!"

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Shinohara-san said that I should eat breakfast with him so, I'm waiting for him." He replied.

"Oh, I see. Then, I'll be going." I said.

"School?"

"Yeah. See you, Suzuya-kun!" I slightly waved him a good bye.

"Bye, bye!~" He waved his arm energetically.

He's always so enthusiastic.. Ah! I forgot that I was lost.

"Um.." I exclaimed.

"Hmm? You're lost?" Suzuya-kun asked.

"How did you know?" I asked.

"Your face shows it all!" He said while laughing.

Am I that easy to read..?

"Now, now. Follow me and this aniki will show his imouto the way." He proudly said.

"You're still going on about this?" I asked with a chuckle.

"I mean it when I say it." He said with a smile.

"Then, I'll take your offer." I said.

We began walking and he kept on humming happily.

"Where's your high school?" He asked.

"Just nearby. Hikaidan High." I answered.

"Oh. I see~ So, are you good at studying?" He asked.

"Not really--"

"You must really suck in Math, huh?" He exclaimed whilst chuckling.

I know that he didn't mean any harm but, I'm kind of insulted.

"You could tell?" I asked.

"Yup. You look like one of the Math idiots." He said.

"On what basis?"

"Face!" He nonchalantly answered.

I scoffed in my mind. He's got a sharp mind. An ANNOYINGLY sharp mind. He kept on telling me his some stories of the sweets he often eats and if we have noting to talk to, he would cheerfully hum.

Soon, we reached the end of the maze like building, leading me out to ride a train for school.

"I'm off. Thanks for leading me the way, Suzuya-kun. Next time, I'll buy you an ice cream." I said.

"Then, I'll be expecting that ice cream along with the cakes and doughnuts!" He chirped.

I giggled. That's too much..!

"Bye, Suzuya-kun." I raised my hand to bid a good bye.

He smiled and I started walking away.

"Bye, bye!~" He waved his hand vigorously.

I looked back at him and waved my hand. He didn't stop waving his hand until I went inside the station and rode a train. Haha! What a kid.
