The person was a woman there and you look out the window as you noticed the army was coming in.
"What the hell is going on?" you mumbled as you watched more and more army officials coming in.
Spencer goes to your side and grabs your hand, as a way to stay calm. He hides it as he didn't want anyone knowing what was going on between the two of you, and wanting to stay quiet.
"Everyone, this is Dr. Linda Kimura, Chief of Special Pathogens with the CDC." JJ starts, introducing the woman.
"Hello." Everyone says, then introduced yourselves.
"Hello, I'm sorry to meet under these circumstances." Linda says, a solemn look on her face.
"We need to get started." Hotch says, still standing but he leaned to grab a file from the table.
"What circumstances?" Alex asks, still confused.
"Last night, 25 people checked into emergency rooms in and around Annapolis. They were all at the same park after 2pm yesterday. Within 10 hours, the first victim died. It's now just past 7am the next day, we have 12 dead." Penelope says, bringing up pictures on the TV.
You let go of Spencer's hand and grabbed both you and him a file. You handed him his file and you opened yours.
"Lung failure and black lesions. Anthrax?" Derek asks, looking up from his files.
"Anthrax doesn't kill this fast." Spencer says, not looking up from his file.
"This strain does." Linda says and Spencer looks up, confused.
"What are we doing about potential mass targets- airports, malls, trains?" You ask, listing off every potential targets.
"There's a media blackout." Hotch answered, looking at everyone.
"We're not telling the public?" Alex asks, crossing her arms at the table.
"We'd have a mass exodus." Derek says, understanding why they're keeping this quiet.
"The psychology of group panic would cause more deaths than this last attack." Dave explains further on the reasoning for the blackout.
"Yeah and if this does get out, whoever did this might go underground or destroy their samples." Spencer continues, trailing his eyes off his files, his eyes trailed to yours.
"Or if they wanted attention and didn't get it, they might attack again. Doesn't the public have the right to know that?" You asked, still not understanding, turning your head to face everyone.
