The next morning you woke up to the sun shining through the windows in your hotel room. You squinted at the brightness of the room when you slowly opened your eyes. You groaned when you felt a headache coming on, and felt a bit of queasiness in your stomach.
"God, how drunk was I?" you whispered as you got up to check your phone. It was 8am and you already had a bunch of messages from different people.
"Oh fuck, I'm late!" you yelled out as you scrambled out of the bed and into the bathroom. That queasiness only grew which caused you to throw up from getting up too quickly.
You sighed after throwing up, flushing the toilet when you finished and you turned on the water. You brushed your teeth while waiting for the water to warm up, soon getting undressed and hopping into the shower. You got dressed after getting out and drying off, then quickly did your hair. You grabbed your shoes after running out of the bathroom, and put those on as you rushed around the hotel room to collect your things.
"Shit, shit, shit!" You kept muttering, rushing around frantically to find your things.
You finally grabbed your hotel key along with your other things and headed out the door, racing through the hallway. You headed to your car, getting in and droving out of the parking garage, heading straight for work. On the way, you called Penelope due to her leaving the most messages on your phone.
"Y/n! Where are you?! You're late!" Penelope yelled as soon as she picked up the phone.
"I know, I know! I accidentally woke up later than usual but I'm driving to work right now." You replied, explaining your reason for being late.
"You're lucky we have no case today. Just get here asap before Hotch notices you aren't here yet! I also have coffee and painkillers waiting for you!" Penelope says, being a godsend to you. You were seriously grateful to have her as a friend.
"Oh my god, thank you. You are a lifesaver! I'll be there soon!" You knew you probably owe her after this, but you didn't care. You would basically do anything for her at this point.
"See you soon, girl wonder!" She then hangs up on you.
You kept getting stuck at red lights and traffic but you luckily made it to work before getting anything from Hotch. You walked into the building and into the elevator. Pushing the button to your floor, the doors closed, soon taking you upstairs. The doors open when the elevator stopped on your floor, the doors opened and you walked out. You saw Penelope there with your coffee and painkiller.
"Thank you, Pen." You whispered, giving her a grateful smile when you took the coffee cup and painkillers out of her hands.
"You're welcome, now go go go!" Penelope says as she swat her hands at you direction for you to get to your desk.
"I'm going, I'm going!" you said as you started walking through the doors of the BAU. You made it to your desk where Derek looked at you confused for walking in late.
