It has been a month since the day of Spencer's arraignment. You've been visiting him every chance you could get due to being sent away on cases. You didn't want to miss any more days of work after being out so much before. You took the morning off of work to go and visit Spencer.

You got dressed in your work attire and you headed out the door. You drove to the prison and you made your way inside. You put your things into a lockbox and went to the visitation room. You waited for the prisoners to come out and your face lit up as you saw Spencer. But after seeing his condition your face fell with concern.

You gave a small smile to Spencer as he sat down across from you and you both grabbed the phone.

"Hi." You spoke softly.

"Hi," he says back to you, smiling, happy to see you across from him.

"What happened to your face?" You asked him, confused and curious to know what happened.

"Uh, it's nothing. I promise you, I'm okay." He attempts to reassure you but you don't believe him.

"Spencer, don't lie to me. Please tell me what happened," You spoke softly but with a hint of sternness in your voice.

He sighs before answering and he gives a look that wasn't good, "I was attacked by some gang members because I ruined their shipments of drugs.." He whispers to you through the phone, not wanting anyone to hear the conversation.

"Oh my god.. Where were the guards or-or my dad?" You asked him, freaking out a bit when you heard him.

"Your dad was helping someone out with their job and the guards were there but they didn't care," He said to you and you got worried.

"We need to get you out of here soon. Spencer, I can't leave here thinking that you'll be attacked again or worse. We're trying our best to figure out who's doing this but we aren't getting any closer. I can't bear to see you like this.." you rambled on and he started to tear up as he heard your concerns for him and you started to tear up while speaking.

"Y/n, I promise I'll be okay. Your dad is here and he's making sure I'm safe." Spencer reassured, giving you a sad smile, and you could see the tears that were threatening to fall from his eyes.

"But-" you started but Spencer stopped you, "Y/n, just worry about getting me out, okay?"

You sighed, nodding with tear-filled eyes. You put your hand on the glass, hoping Spencer would do the same. You looked at it and put his hands where yours was and looked at you.

"I'm so sorry you're going through this," You said, your voice breaking at the sight of him in prison clothes and a bruise from getting attacked.

"It was my own fault, y/n. I made the choice to go down to Mexico." He says to you, speaking softly.

"You were trying to help your mom. If only Scratch didn't put you in this mess, you would be at home and at the BAU with the team," You whispered, still hating him for what he's done. You couldn't hate him either because his mom meant the world to him and he would do anything for her.
