LAUREN'S POV:

I'm sitting on the couch with my sisters practicing for our next cover, when my phone buzzes. Normally, I wouldn't check it, but I had a feeling it was Y/N. I sneakily turned my phone over so no one could see and check who the buzz was from.

I sighed when I saw it was just an Instagram notification. I turned my phone back over and rejoined the singing practice. After about 30 minutes, I heard another buzz. This time I was sure it was Y/N.

I mean how could she go an hour without texting me?

I hurriedly check my phone and to my disappointment, it isn't her. It's just a stupid text from my mom. My feelings are a little hurt, but they shouldn't be, Y/N doesn't have to text me all the time.

It would be nice if she did, though.

I must've been too quiet, because all of a sudden, Dani nudged my arm.

"Hey, you ok, Laur?" She looked at me with worry in her eyes, which made me feel a little better.

I didn't feel like explaining everything to her, so I just nodded. It's not the end of the world, I'm sure she'll text me soon. Right?

Wrong. 2 hours of constantly checking my phone and waiting for her to text me had passed.

Why don't I just text her myself? I pull out my phone and start to type.

Hey, Y/N! How are youuuuu

Pretty basic, but I just want to talk to her. I decide to open tiktok while I wait for her response, when I hear someone walking to my room. I perk up when I hear a knock at the door.

Could it be Y/N? Maybe this is why she's been ignoring me.

"Yes?" I say while the door knob turns.

Lisa comes into the room and my hopes are denied.

"Hey, mom wants you to help us move some stuff out of the garage." Lisa motions for me to follow and I do, leaving my phone on my bed.

I follow Lisa into the garage and I'm met by the rest of my sisters.

"Took you long enough, Laur. We can't do all the work for you." Christina rolls her eyes as the others laugh.

I'm not in the mood for this, I would rather be talking to Y/N. I decide not to say anything back, which makes Christina get a weird look on her face.

"You always roast me back. Did you suddenly become nice today?"

"I'm not in the mood today, Christina." I say with a huff, which my sisters take as a sign to shut up.

They share looks with each other and start to move boxes without saying a word. After about an hour of moving stuff, we finally clear out the room.

"Finally, we're done! It took a village, right Laur?" Dani nudges my arm and lightly chuckles.

"Hmm? Oh yeah it did." My mind is too focused on Y/N to give her a proper response. My mood instantly gets better as I remember the text I sent. It's been more than an hour, she's definitely texted by now.

I race up the stairs and go straight to my room, where I see my phone laying face down on my bed. I pick it up and scroll through the notifications I missed, until I reach a text.

My heart skips a beat as I open it, but quickly realize it wasn't her. I check our text log and see that she hasn't even seen my text.

I let out a big sigh and flop onto my bed, carelessly scrolling through Instagram. I hear footsteps coming closer, but pay no attention to them.
