Lauren's POV:

I quickly rush home to make it in time for the band meeting. I can't seem to stop thinking about the girl I met at the bookstore. She's the first friend I've made in a while. The band takes up a lot of my time, so it's good to meet new people.

I pull my car up to Christina's house and walk through the door.
As soon as I do, I feel 5 pairs of eyes staring at me.

"What took you so long, Lauren? We've been waiting for 20 minutes!" Christina yelled at me as I figured she would. As the head of the band, she's always the one bossing us around. We all know that without her, we wouldn't get much done, but we don't have to tell her that.

"I'm sorry, I just made a friend there."
I tried to look as innocent as I could, so they wouldn't ask any more questions.

I look around and notice that Dani won't take her eyes off me, almost like she's trying to see if I'm lying. I look at her with confidence, trying to show her that I'm not.

"Ooooohhh what kind of friend?" Lisa poked me in the side while she teased me.

"No not that kind of friend, Lisa. It was a girl."

"Oh. Well what's her name?"

"Y/N. She's pretty cool, I think I'm going to teach her how to cook."

"Are you kidding me? You can't cook!"
Lisa smirked while everyone laughed at her joke.

"Uh, yes she can, we beat you! Our chicken nuggets were out of this world!" Dani said while nudging Lisa's shoulder.

"Ok, ok sure. Maybe you can cook. Let's get on with this meeting before we waste even more time!" Christina raises her voice a little, so we all know she's serious.

We end the meeting a little over an hour after it starts, and I head up to my room.

After 20 minutes of mindlessly scrolling through my phone, Y/N pops into my mind. I decide to start texting her.

Lauren: Hi, Y/N, it's Lauren from the bookstore

Y/N🙂: Oh hi Lauren! Are you brushing up on your cooking skills?

Lauren: Never, great cooks don't need practice. So when can I teach you my amazing cooking skills?

Y/N🙂: Are you available tomorrow?

Lauren: Yeah, maybe around 1? Come to *Laurens address*

Y/N🙂: Ok perfect. See you then, Laur.

My heart leapt when she called me Laur. I'm a little surprised by my body's reaction but I brush it off.

It's just because I'm excited to have a new friend, right?

I don't feel satisfied with my excuse but quickly move past it.

Y/N POV:

My phone buzzes on my bed next to me. I check to see who it is and see Lauren pop up. I haven't added any emojis yet, I don't know what to put without overthinking it.

My heart races while I open the text. She's asking when she can teach me to cook. I get butterflies when I think about spending more time with her. I nervously ask her if she can do it tomorrow. My hands sweat as I wait for her response.

I put my phone down and close my eyes, hoping she'll say yes.
As soon as my phone buzzes, I race to pick it up. She said yes!!

Oh my gosh I can't wait! Please be normal, Y/N. You don't want to scare her away. I know she's straight, but what's the harm in being friends?

THE NEXT DAY

I get in the car to drive over to her house. I wipe my sweaty hands on my jacket, as I beg my body to act normal. I can't have feelings for this girl. I barely know her.

I finally arrive and walk up to her door. I look to the left and see their mailbox with "Cimorelli" written on it. I realize that she never told me her last name.
I bring my hand up to the door to knock. As soon as I do, my heartbeat quickens. I knock and I hear footsteps coming closer.

"Hi, you must be Y/N. I'm Lisa, Lauren's older sister."
I look up and see a short haired girl, wearing miss matched clothing, but somehow still rocking it.
"Oh, hi."
I feebly wave to her, filled with anxiety.

"Well, come in! Don't be shy we don't bite."
Lisa laughs at her own joke and motions for me to come in.

As soon as I walk in, I'm greeted by 4 other people. They introduce themselves as Christina, Amy, Dani, and Katherine. I introduce myself and look around for Lauren.

I can't seem to find her anywhere. Lisa seemed to have noticed the anxious look on my face and smiled to herself. She thought it was cute that that I was so nervous without Lauren.
"Don't worry, Y/N, Lauren is just running late from an errand. She'll be back soon."

"Oh, ok cool"
I give an awkward smile, very uncomfortable in a house with 5 girls I just met.

Dani walks over to me with a friendly smile on her face.
"So you and Lauren met at the bookstore, right?"

"Uh, yeah we met yesterday."

"Well you seem nice, I'm glad you and Lauren are friends."
Dani gives me another warm smile and I start to feel more comfortable. I talk to Dani a little longer before I make my way over to Lisa.
"So, do you know when Lauren will be back?"

"She just texted me. She'll be here in about 20 minutes. Until then, how about we get to know you a little better, Y/N."

Lisa takes my hand and brings me to the living room with the other Cimorelli sisters.
We talk for a little bit and slowly, I feel comfortable around them.
20 minutes seems to pass by fast, I really enjoy the company of the Cimorelli's.

I hear the door open and turn my head to look. The beautiful brown eyed girl comes through and my heart stops. She looks perfect.

Stop Y/N, you cant catch feelings for her. You're friends. There's no way you could ever be more than that.
