LAUREN'S POV:

"Hey, Lauren, is that you?" I freeze when I hear these words, not wanting to have been recognized.

I don't move from my spot, trying to act like I don't know them.

"Lauren, are those your friends?" Y/N says with a smile. "Let's go over there and talk to them!"

Before I can tell her no, she already starts walking. By the time I can catch up, she's face to face with them.

"Hi guys, you must be Lauren's friends." Sarah looks down at her and then back at me, questioningly.

"Well we were. Who are you?" Hannah asks.

"I'm, Y/N, her girlfriend."

Suddenly, the two girls burst out in laughter.

I try to grab Y/N's hand to leave, but she won't do it. She still has the same smile on her face, only now it's slightly less sincere.

"I don't get it, what's so funny?" The girls stop laughing and look Y/N directly in the eyes.

"Oh, nothing. It's just....we were right about Lauren. Being a dyke and all." Y/N's mouth drops open in disbelief.

"Uh, excuse me? What did you just call her?"

"It's fine, babe, they can call me what they want. Can we please just leave?" I tug on her arm and beg to leave, but she brushes me off.

"Aww, she called her babe. Isn't that so sweet, Hannah?"

"What is your problem?" Anger fills her voice as she balls her hands into fists.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Is (f slur) a better name for her?" They both start laughing and taunting Y/N.

I look over and can see her heart completely shatter after she tried to be nice to them. Y/N cocks her fist and starts to raise it.

I try to stop her but it's too late. Her fist slams into Hannah's face and knocks her into Sarah's arms.

"Don't ever call her that again, or I'll kill you." Tears start pouring out of Hannah's face as she starts to run away.

"YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY. IM TELLING MY DAD!" Y/N turns to me looking so badass and walks straight to the car.

We both get in and she's still radiating the coolest energy possible.

"You didn't have to do that for me, babe. Are you ok?"

"OH MY GOSH THAT HURT MY HAND SO BAD ARE YOU KIDDING? NOW I KNOW WHY PEOPLE DONT PUNCH PEOPLE THAT OFTEN IT HURTS!" I burst into laughter as she looks concerningly at her fist.

"Ok, but did I at least look cool?"

"You looked the coolest. Now give me a kiss." I lean over and bring her in for a kiss, making it last longer that usual.

"Laur, I get that this is a really cool moment for you, considering I'm a hero that just defended your name, but can we please go home to ice my hand? That bitch may be homophobic, but she has some surprisingly hard cheek bones." I laugh and nod, while she starts the car.

We drive in silence for a while, taking in the events of this morning. I think about everything that Y/N has gone through. Her family, the abuse, the homophobia, everything, and I feel so terrible for her.

"I'm sorry." I begin to tear up, and Y/N looks at me with concern in her eyes.

"For what, baby?"

"F-for everything. You didn't deserve any of this, but it still happens to you. It isn't fair. I want you to be happy." A single tear falls from my eye, but she's quick to wipe it away.

"Oh, no, Laur. None of this is your fault. I'm glad that all of this happened to me because it led me to you. You make me happy. Whatever I go through, I know I can make it out because of you." She kisses my cheek, then my nose, then my lips, and then every single part of my face until I smile.

We finally get back to the house and try to keep what happened a secret. This lasts for all of two minutes, when Y/N forgets and accidentally shows her hand to Dani.

Y/N'S POV:

"What happened to your hand?" Lauren internally panics, not wanting Christina to find out.

If Christina finds out, she'll never let us go out alone together again. Laur takes Dani into her room and tells her the story.

She quickly runs back out and starts yelling.

"YOU'RE LITERALLY SO COOL, WHAT??!!" I smile not expecting her to have said this and yell back.

"I KNOW, RIGHT! I'M SO COOL!" Lauren rolls her eyes at us and goes to the kitchen to get an ice pack for my hand.

We successfully keep this information from Christina by deciding for me to shove my hands into my pockets whenever she walks by me.

"Uh, hey, Y/N. Whatcha doin with your hands there?"

"Oh...nothing.....just cold." Christina looks at me weirdly and walks away.

I look over to Lauren and Dani and they're both giving me a thumbs up, to which I roll my eyes at.

A couple hours later of chilling, Lauren decides to take a shower. I stay in her room, the whole time, not wanting to talk to anyone.

I have my Spotify pulled up on her laptop and am shuffling through playlists. Suddenly "Superstar" starts blasting through the speakers.

This is the 20th time I've heard this song, so I know all the words. I start to get up and dance around the room, singing very loudly.

LAUREN'S POV:

I turn the water off and get dressed, but I can hear the faint sound of a song playing. I get out and start walking towards my room and smile when I realize our song is blasting.

As I get to the door, I slowly open it, not wanting to alert Y/N. Her back is facing me and she's screaming the words.

"YOU'RE MY SUPERSTAAAAAAR!" I decide to quietly make my way behind her and not say a word.

I'm standing as close to her as possible without her noticing, while she continues screaming.

"YOU'RE MY SUPERSTAAAR!! YEAAAAAAH!"She turns around and her body takes a screenshot when she sees me.

"AHHHHHH!" She falls to the ground in fear as I laugh my head off. I shut the music off while she stays on the ground, laying like a starfish.

"I hate you I hate you I hate you." Y/N's eyes stay closed as she steadies her breathing.

"You're a really good singer, babe. Maybe even better than me."

"Don't talk to me."
