"Notch is dead."
Your heart skipped a beat. A shiver went down your entire body as you took a shaky step back from the Goddess.
"Dead?" You whispered.
"Yes. Dead." She said.
"But...how? How could a God die?"
Her eyes all stared at you, a look that made you back again once more.
"In many ways, really. You'd be surprised."
She laughed again, but it sounded less jovial and more...evil. You stared into her unblinking eyes.
"You...you killed Notch, didn't you." You said.
Her laughter died down as you spoke. She waved her hand dismissively.
"So what? I only did what I had to."
'Y/n...'
Herobrine's voice interrupted your thoughts, reminding you why you were in the Aether.
"Goddess of Dreams!" You called.
"What?"
"I...came here for a reason. For Herobrine."
"Well, of course you are. All that screaming you did must've meant something."
You nodded and clutched your bag. You didn't know how to negotiate with a God very well.
"I came here to rescue him. He doesn't belong here. He belongs down there, with me."
"I'm going to have to disagree, y/n. Keeping an unfinished God down there has already proved to be quite...destructive."
You gulped and shook your head.
"Please! He needs to come home! I know he's done horrible things, but he's getting better! He won't cause any trouble now."
"You think I'd ever risk putting him back? Look at the trouble he's already caused. It's better if he stays here."
Her voice was low and dangerous, but you couldn't give up now. You stepped forward and raised your voice.
"You have to understand what he means to me! I love him and I want him to come home! He can't stay here!"
"He can and he will!"
Her voice rattled the walls. You felt the floor shake beneath you. You almost fell over as the castle shook. Your heart was pounding as the castle settled down again. The Goddess sighed deeply and closed her eyes. You cleared your throat.
"Please. I'll do anything."
"There's nothing to be done."
"Then...why did you bring me here?"
"I don't think you understand the trouble you've caused as well."
Your heart skipped another beat. You felt sweat collect on your palms and forehead.
"Me?"
"You've made quite the impact. Don't think I haven't been seeing your little adventure. Running around the world, meeting Lesser Gods, causing panic in Sky City, using your powers..."
"It wasn't that bad, was it?"
"Not as bad as him, if that's what you mean."
"So what then? You brought me here to tell me off?"
The Goddess watched you carefully, then she erupted with laughter.
"No, no, no...not at all."
You were confused. You stood awkwardly as she continued to laugh.
