You adjust your puff sleeves one more time, holding your jacket tight in your right hand, and your lipgloss in that other. You look straight at your reflection in the mirror and without thinking, you scratch your itchy arm nervously.

"Well fuck."

You roll your eyes and put on the cropped jacket as you know you'll never get these sleeves to look right if you don't stop scratching your arms under them. You throw the gloss in your handbag and put on your high-heeled ankle boots. You quickly check what time it is and leave your apartment in a hurry. You took too much time worrying about how good you'd look compared to Angelina. You tighten the belt around your waist as you run down the stairs, your heels clicking on the ground.

As you sit inside your car, you don't even take the time to breathe before you turn on the engine. You turn your GPS device on as you can't remember clearly the whole way to Angelina's apartment. You probably would've been able to even just a year or two ago but your memory has had time to get severely damaged by the drugs you've done over the years.

As you're driving about a million thoughts come through your mind. You try to convince yourself that you don't make that big of a deal out of that date or dinner, whatever, you kinda don't want to label it, but you can't even hide to yourself that you feel incredibly nervous. Over the last few days, ever since Angelina's call, you haven't been able to get her out of your mind, everything reminds you of her, it's almost like an obsession, it doesn't get any close to anything you've bet felt before and honestly it scares you. But what's frightens you the most is that you have no idea wether Angelina really likes you and is attracted by you or not. What if this is all a joke, an illusion, what a fool you are to believe someone like Angelina would be interested in your small dumbass anyway. Who would've known you would've been so impacted by someone you said you didn't give a fuck about not even a month ago.

You keep on biting your lower lip as you park your car in front of the fancy building so much you can't feel a single drop of lipgloss on it anymore. You get the gloss out of your ourse and nervously apply some back on. As always, you check on your reflection in the rear view mirror, replacing a few hair strands, trying for nice smiles, and overall trying not to look too ugly.

You step out of your car, in the silence of the street the only thing you hear is the sound of your heels clicking on the asphalt. You stand in front of the door for a short second before taking a big breath and stepping in, your eyes closed. You managed to remember both the code of the building and the one of Angelina's apartment but once you make your way to that one apartment, you forget everything, and even if you would've knocked out of respect, you couldn't have passed the door to save your life. You're so close that it makes you feel out of your mind, all you can hear is your heart beating faster in your chest. Is it what it's like to be in love ? All thoughts coming from your heart and your brain being dysfunctional ?

You manage to knock weakly on the door which opens almost instantly, revealing a gorgeous woman, the one that's invaded your thoughts for weeks now. Angelina. A glowing face along with the most beautiful smile you'd ever seen welcome you, and you freeze immediately, any sense of movement leaving your body as you see the most beautiful woman you've ever met again.

You're brought back from your state of shock and amazement but a small laugh.

"So what ? Cat got your tongue ?"

You slightly shake your head to finish waking yourself up and awkwardly smile.

"Yeah, ahem yup, sorry. Ahem, yeah..."

You feel the heat in your cheeks, and even though you know they don't truly turn red you instantly start to stare at the ground. Angelina's smile increases before she fades into the apartment to let you come in.
