“Open your eyes Waverly.”
Slowly opening my eyes the sight in front of me was definitely one to see. There lie the mysterious human. He was still unconscious. My eyes trailed his body until I saw the tail. He had a dark blue tail, but he still had all of his markings on his chest.
“It worked. The spell actually worked,” Arabella was saying to herself. She couldn’t believe it.
“What are we going to do with him?” Mishell sharply said.
“I’m not quite sure about that yet,” I uneasily said.
We couldn’t just leave him. He wouldn’t know what happened to him. Humans were stupid, so I doubt he’d be able to figure it out. What was my father going to say? He would probably kill me and then the beautiful human. I couldn’t let that happen. I saw something in him. Something good. I couldn’t put my fin on it.
Mishell started shaking him.
“Mishell! Stop! He’s already hurt enough.”
“He needs to wake up. The sooner he wakes up. The sooner we can leave.”
“Well are we going to take him back to the village with us?” Arabella’s voice cracked out.
“We can’t he’s a human. Mermaids and humans are never ever to interact with each other.”
“Mishell, we’re already past that now.”
She let out a scream of frustration.
“Mishell! Shut up!”
She just rolled her eyes. I was about to scream at her some more when the boy started moving. We all locked eyes with each other. We should’ve come up with a plan before this. I came up with a plan inside my head and I could only hope Arabella and Mishell would go along with it.
His seaweed green eyes popped open. He blinked serval times. I’m sure he didn’t realize he had a tail and could breathe underwater. He looked in thought when suddenly he sat up. His eyes widened to the size of a blowfish’s. He moved backwards quickly. He was looking at us like we were monsters.
He let out a scream. Arabella and Mishell started to swim towards him. He had a look of pure fear etched on his face. He looked like a bundle of nerves.
“Stop, don’t go near him yet,” my voice rang out through the currents.
He looked surprised we could talk. He looked as if he wanted to say something.
“Wh-what are you?” he shakily said.
The three of us exchanged glances. Having a mental battle in our thoughts of who should tell him.
“Y-you I-I have seen you before,” his facial expression softened.
“Stupid fish,” Mishell said under her breath.
“Shut up Mishell.”
He looked down to his new tail and screamed. He jumped backwards and then startied patting the tail. Unsure of what to do I swam closer cautiously.
“You fell off your boat and hit your head badly. I found you and realized you would’ve died if we didn’t do anything. Arabella over there turned you into a temporary merman.”
He didn’t say anything. His face looked stunned.
“H-how long is temporary.”
I looked over to Arabella to answer, “Until your wounds heal.”
“W-what.”
“We are mermaids,” I motioned to the other fishes, “We live here. The only way you could’ve lived is if we saved you. The ocean is nourishing to injuries.”
“An-and I’m a merman?” He said unsure of himself.
I nodded my head.
“Why didn’t you just let me die?”
“I saw something good in you.”
The boy look astonished. “Al-alright.”
“Oh where are my fishers, I am Mishell!” She stuck out her hand to him which he only looked at like it was a dead sting ray. I couldn’t help the snicker that came out from my mouth.
“I’m Arabella.”
“And I’m Waverly. What’s your name?”
“H-Harry.”
