Baskville and Sourovitas were freezing like hell in the month of December. The last months passed by like a blur. There was bliss in the air. While on the one hand, Shayla got a seat in her dream university, Aric, on the other hand, received the Creator of the Year award. Both were happy as the end of the year bought luck and success for them.  

Although Shayla was a little sad as Bianca and Nattie couldn't clear the Monteroril University exam, she was happy too as they got seats at Xavion University in Heustonar City. The past four months were very busy for both Aric and Shayla. Shayla was having her practicals and exams, and Aric was busy with his music video shooting and lyrics writing. 

"Tomorrow is New Year's Eve, so what's the plan boys?" Gabrien asked as all of the boys were hanging out at Aric's place, sitting on the floor of Aric's room with cold drink cans and pizza boxes lying here and there. When nobody said anything, Gabrien continued, "Let's go in for a gaming night at 'Clash Armis gaming club', and please--" he insisted on the word please and joined both of his hands as he spoke further, "--keep your girlfriends out of the plan this time. It takes everything in me to see you guys with your chicks when I am an ultimate single."

"I am in," Aric said as he sat straight on the floor and picked up his can of apple juice, "Elliema is out of the country with her parents to celebrate New Year."

"Why you didn't accompany her?" Trivil asked.

"Argh, what's your problem Trivil!" Gabrien shouted at Trivil to which Trivil gave a funny look. "See, Aric, I am personally happy with your decision. It's good that you decided not to go. This new year we all friends will be together doing some boys' stuff," Gabrien smirked as he spoke. 

"I had to work on my music video so I decided not to go. That project was pending for a long time. Fans thought I am stalling. It was necessary to complete that song." Aric said as he finished his apple juice in one swig and ignored Gabrien's comment.

"When you are planning to release it?" Dane asked.

"On the first of January," Aric said

"Nice buddy, good luck," Trivil wished Aric.

Trivil was about to say something else when they heard loud snores. All the four boys turned their heads towards the right side of where Dane was sitting and they saw what they expected. Basil was fast asleep in the corner of the room with his head hanging to his left and his back against the wall.

"This stupid is drooling, see," Trivil pointed his finger towards Basil's mouth. All the boys laughed out loud but it wasn't enough to wake up the sleepyhead Basil.

"Wait, let me take his picture," Aric stood up, took his phone from his desk, and clicked Basil's photograph. 

"OH my god, I am offended now. I can not believe this. Why god why!" Gabrien looked at the ceiling and joined his palms together in a praying gesture, "Even this duffer has a girlfriend, this drooling bastard is gifted with a girlfriend but not ME! This isn't fair. Guys you can kill me. I am devastated now," saying this Gabrien hung his head down dejectedly. 

Aric and Trivil chuckled while Dane shook his head and spoke, "You are not alone. Aric is with you. He's single too."

"What!" Both Trivil and Gabrien shouted with astonishment.
