9. Bury your problems

She doesn't want him to live in hurt

While she's covering up his dirt

He will fall in love with her

Like they did on that first day.

I grab the shovel out of the shed, and walk up to Tate who is sitting on the ground. It's dark outside, but I can still see him well in the dark.

'I think this would be the best place to dig. Your father already gave us a head start.' He says pointing to the ground. And I nod, grabbing my hair tigh, and putting my hair back into a bun. 'I've never seen your hair up before.. I like it.'

'Thanks,' I say, giving him a small smile.

'That's the first word you've said since I got here... Are you still mad at me?' He asks, and I nod. 'I said I was sorry.'

'I know,' I say as I keep digging.

'When will you forgive me?' He asks as I keep digging.

'When I forget that I found guns under your bed! Also can you actually start helping me!' I say pissed off. I throw him the extra shovel, and we get to work.

'Violet, I promise you that I will do that again.' He says while he starts digging.

'You better not, or I promise you I will break up with you.' I say tearing up, but he can't see that in the dark. 'And please don't make me have to do that..'

'You don't have to.' He says.

'Yes I will, because I know if you do, you will ruin your life, and I don't want that for you. So I want you to know that I will, so you don't ruin it.' I say.

'You really do care don't you?' He asks with a sad smile.

'Of course, now keep digging. It might start raining, so I want to get this done as soon as possible.' I say, and I hear his shovel hit something hard.

'Holy shit..' He says covering his mouth.

'What did you find?' I ask, and he reaches in, and pulls out a skull.

'Someone was buried here..' He says, and takes my hand to jump in the much bigger hole. 'Look there's a whole dead body here.'

'Who's is it?' I say, and my voice is very shaky.

'I don't recognize her, do you?' he asks, lifting up the body to show me.

'Holy shit, that's the girl from Boston!' I say, and he looks at me. She was already starting to rot as well.

'Do you think your dad did this?' He asks, and I start tearing up.

'He wouldn't do something like this!' I yell

'Yeah, but you else would?' He asks, and I start to feel raindrops hit me.

'I don't know! Lets just put the guns in here, and get back inside before it starts to rain!' I yell pulling him up out of the hole. He throws the guns in the hole, and we start filling it in. The longer we take the more it starts pouring. We heard thunder, and by that time the hole was filled enough we could leave. He takes my hand, and we walk in through the back door.

'Violet, Can I stay the night?' He asks, cupping my face.

'Sure, but let's go to my room before we get caught.' I say grabbing his hand, and pulling him up the stairs. We get to my room, and I try turning on the light, but the power went out.

'Do you have candles in your room?' He asks, and I pull them out of my drawer.

'Do you have matches on you?' I ask with a smirk.

'No, but I do have a lighter.' He says pulling it out of his back pocket.

'Ok, do you want to light 'Moonlight beach', or 'Birthday cake'?' I ask laughing.

'I'll take Moonlight beach.' He says laughing along. He lights the candle, and I put it on my dresser. I sit back down in front of him, and take his hand.

'I forgive you now.' I say, then giving him a kiss.

'That's good.' He says kissing me back. He gets up to sit next to me, and wraps his hand around my shoulder. I lay my head on his shoulder, and he kisses my head.

'I forgot to tell you what I wanted to tell you today.' I say in a sigh.

'What was it?' He asks, and I put my head up to look at him.

'My mom said it was ok for us to date.' I say smiling.

'That's great!' He says back, then gives me a kiss. I lay my head back down on his shoulder, then yawn. I get up, and lay in my bed. He spoons me, and I hold his hands. And soon enough I fall asleep.
