The second they went down the sewer hole I fled to April's place. I landed on the creaky fire escape with a small thud. I was still sick and clumsiness played a huge factor. I sniffled and popped open the window. I entered soundlessly and ventured throughout the place till I stumbled upon April's room. I entered and walked over to the bed.
I heard the air connect to my ears before the object could come close to my head. I ducked and rolled out of the way. I turned to see a messy April attacking. I grabbed two of my four daggers as she swug the bat again. I couldn't find my voice so I just avoided hitting her and her hitting me. It was slightly cramped but she got my lower back with the bat as I avoided the upper swing. I cried in pain and tumbled into a summer salt on the ground. I had to get her to stop.
I rolled out of the way again as the bat swung down next to me. She hesitated when bring the bat up so I took my chance. I wrapped my legs around it and twisted it out of her grip. i threw it to the side and grabbed my daggers. I got her up against the wall however a look of determination rested on her face.
I brought up my daggers and pinned her wrist back at the scruff of her long sleeved shirt. Before she could react I bought the mask off of my face and she immediately softened with tears staining her cheeks.
"Honour?" she said struggling to get free of my daggers.
"In the flesh." I said with a nasally voice while holding my hands out to my sides as if to show it was me.
"Oh my gosh I am so sorry!" she rushed. I grabbed the daggers from her clothes and she instantly engulfed me in a hug. I smiled and hugged her back.
"Where have you been? Why did you leave? You missed a lot of homework!" she yelled as she dragged me to her bed. I chuckle at the last part and sat with her.
"Long story," I huffed.
"I've got time." she said with a sly smirk. I gave a smile and then I went on explaining everything to her. I told her why, and I also told her about the meetings with Raphael, Tsukiko, and Mikey. She got a little hurt at that because she was talked to first. I explained everything. Down to the whole part of talking to Splinter and how I wasn't sure if I should go on my own.
"Wow," she said after I finished. I sighed happily as I got everything off my chest. I took a deep breath then and waited for an answer.
"Well, I think you should talk to Sensei tomorrow night. I can get the guys away while you sneak in. Tsukiko can help! I'll call her up and take them on a wild goose chase in the sewers while you sneak in." April said to me with a smile.
"That sounds like a great idea." I said with a smile.
"Why don't you sleep here. I'll get you up a little bit before we leave so you can get ready." she said patting my back. I nodded and smiled.
"Here I'll grab you some old Pj's so you can cut a hole in." she said getting up and grabbing a few things out of her closet. She grabbed a few articles of clothing while I began to undress in my under clothes. I folded my main outfit and set it neatly in a pile. I set my weapons on or by the empty nightstand and remained in a tank top and black spandex. She tossed me a old sweatshirt which I accepted. I declined the shorts so I could just sleep in spandex.
We climbed into bed which I was so grateful for seeing as I slept on an old pullout mattress in a falling apart building. Soon enough I felt myself drift into a well deserved rest.
The next morning I was woken by April opening the door and stepping on a creaky board. I snapped awake and hed out the closet dagger I grabbed. She threw her hands up ad I quickly let my guard down.
I set down the dagger and began dressing, but not before having a laugh. I finished with my wraps as April proposed to do my hair which I accepted. She did my hair into a long french braid down my back as I stuffed my mask in my tight belt. I secured my daggers as she tied off the braid with a clear elastic and a small black ribbon that she tied in a bow. I smiled at the small touch and pulled it to the side as I slipped on both my quivers of arrows and then Katana and bow.
We headed out of the place with me staying on the roofs and her going to the sewer. I jumped down just as she arrived to the sewer cap. I used my old method with my pipe and kicked it open. She climbed down and then I pulled it back on top. That is when we began our calm walk to the turtles.
I admit I had my rising fears of speaking with Master Splinter but I also had my courage and that got me through enough. April told me when we woke up that she texted Tsukiko and she was in with my our plan.
I climbed the ceiling and hung unto the pipes as she banged on the door in a fake panic.
"Guys!" she yelled. I saw the door open and the four boys rush along with Tsukiko.
"What is it? What happened?" Donnie gushed.
"I saw a kitten fall down here! We need to find her!" April yelled to them in a fake panic. Nice acting.
"So what!" Raphael said slightly annoyed.
"So what? I was a kitten once! I know how they feel! We need to find her!" Tsukiko warned. He rolled his eyes and they branched off. Before the door could close I dropped into a summer salt and into the lair.
I looked around to see it hasn't changed. I sighed and entered the dojo to see Hamato Yoshi himself meditating beneath the tree.
"Master Splinter." I stated as I went on a knee and bowed with one elbow resting on my knee.
"Honour, you have returned." he said but I didn't dare look up yet. He has not commanded me and my ninja training now says not too.
"You may look up." he finally said. I looked up and fasted the master I had grown to love. He was my Sensei, he acted like a father he gave me good advice, and he made me smile. He gave me hope when I had lost it like the turtles had. I peered up to him with soft green and blue eyes and my ears held back.
"It is very good to see you, my child." he said looking at me with a small smile.
"Master Splinter," I started but he raised a paw and silenced me.
"I do not wish to here what you have to say." he said slightly rough. "But," he started. "I am glad you are home." he said.
We made tea and sat to discuss everything that will come and things that have happened. We were resting in the dojo with our cooling tea when Leo burst in. I wasn't facing him instead I was facing away from him. I heard the Katanas slip out oh his holster. I set down my tea and gave a small nod to Master Splinter.
I heard him lunge at me. He must not have seen my ears because they were down seeing as I was sick and they were the same color as my hair. I turned and unsheathed my katana. I turned and stopped his attack with my katana in front of me. He took one look in my eyes before backing off.
"Honour?" he said shocked.
"Leonardo." I said softly. I put away my katana as he sat there blankly staring.
"Leonardo, my son, it is not polite to stare." Master Splinter said to me.
"Sorry, Sensei." he said bowing slightly. This was going to be a long conversation. I wonder how he will react to this. Mikey and Raphael reacted quiet well, but this was Leo we were talking about.
