"Where are you off you?" called Narcissa upon seeing her little cousin leaving the Slytherin common room.
"The kitchens." she answered "I'd quite like a cup of tea Would you like to accompany me?"
"Yes alright" Narcissa agreed in appreciation.
The two cousins made their way through the corridors holding themselves with grace and dignity. After around five minutes of walking they made it to the painting of the fruit bowl.
"Why are we here?" said Narcissa confused
"We're going into the kitchens." answered Cassie vaguely as she leant over to the portrait and tickled the pair. The fruit giggled before morphing into a door handle which the girl pulled open gesturing for Narcissa to enter first. The blonde complied followed by Cassiopeia shortly after.
The room was littered with hundreds of tiny house elves scurrying around making the preparations for breakfast the following morning. Shelves stacked with snacks ingredients and beverages ranging from sweet to savoury to all kinds of magical foods. Noticing the arrival of the two girls one little elf in particular scurried over to the girls in excitement.
"Miss Black! Dipsy has missed you very much! What can Dipsy do for Miss Black and her friend!"
"I've told you Dipsy you can call me Cassie, this here is my cousin Narcissa Black."
"Pleasure" Narcissa nodded in greeting.
"Oh Dipsy must call Miss, miss, out of respect Miss Black. What would other Miss Black like?"
"Two cups of tea please Dipsy, make them with two sugars." she smiled nodding in appreciation as the small elf rushed off to brew the tea.
"Strange creatures" noted Narcissa with furrowed brows "But particularly useful."
"I like them." she shrugged "Excellent cooks"
"I never knew Hogwarts had house elves"
"Thats because they're not meant to be seen." shrugged Cassie "They choose to be here, they're free elves"
"How..peculiar."
"Indeed." agreed Cassiopeia "I suppose it's because after they're dismissed they couldn't find any work..they do a good job at keeping the castle clean though.
"Yes." Narcissa nodded
Dipsy levitated two mugs of tea over to the two girls and they took the beverages gratefully sitting down at a nearby table continuing to discuss various matters.
"Bellatrix is to be wed..did you hear?" said Narcissa excitedly sipping on her tea
"No, I was unaware, who is it to?" asked Cassiopeia curiously
"Rudolphus Lestrange"
"Lucky her." said Cassie "He's certainly easy on the eyes."
"I can't deny that. What about you? Have your mother and father mentioned anything about an engagement?"
