THE NEXT MORNING, Skylar was staying home from school. She had told her mother that she was grieving for Will - which she was - but she was also going to investigate more into her father and the lab.

Well, she was, until the radio that Lucas had lent her began crackling, causing her to snap her head up in surprise. She got up, picking up the radio and holding it to her mouth.

"Skylar? You there?" Lucas' voice rang out from the radio, making her nearly drop it in surprise. She still wasn't used to how they worked.

"Yeah? I'm here. What's up?"

"How fast can you get round to Mike's? He says it's about Will."

"Will?" Skylar bit her lip, looking at the files she was going to start reading through. "I'm not sure, Lucas. I've got something to do."

"Please? He says it's an emergency."

Skylar groaned, "Fine, but you better pick me up. I'm not walking - it's too cold."

"Fine!" Skylar could hear the smirk through the phone. "I'll be there in five."

"This better be worth it." Skylar grumbled, quickly getting dressed and putting a beanie over her hair. She was rifling through her closet for a jumper when she heard Lucas' bike bell ringing impatiently. Sighing, she left the jumper and hoped that they wouldn't be going outside.

"Finally." Lucas smiled, and Skylar jumped on the back of his bike, carefully holding her messenger bag so that it didn't get caught on the wheels. "Don't you understand the meaning of emergency?"

"Not this early I don't."

Lucas pedalled faster, causing her to wobble on the bike. She shivered - even in the short journey it was still freezing. Wind bit her hands and nipped at her nose, causing her cheeks to turn red.

The journey was over soon enough, and the pair sprinted into the house, preparing for whatever the emergency was. When nothing seemed amiss in the general house, they ran down into the basement, only to see Mike, Eleven and Dustin sat on the ground.

"Is there a fire?" She asked, annoyed. "A broken window? Anything justifiable that means that I'm here, today?"

Mike glared at her, before nodding to Eleven. At first nothing happened, but then a warbling sound came through the radio, and Skylar recognised it as singing. As she listened more carefully, the more it sounded like Will's voice, singing the song he and Jonathan always played.

"We keep losing the signal, but you heard it right?" Mike looked hopeful, and Skylar wrung her hands together to hide the shaking.

"Yeah, I heard a baby." Lucas sighed, messing with the carpet dejectedly.
