THE NEXT DAY, Skylar arrived at school on her bike to see the rest of the party dressed up as the Ghostbusters crew. Locking her bike up, she grinned at them all.
Dustin frowned at her, "Hey, you aren't dressed up."
"I told you I wasn't, ages ago," she reminded them, before pulling out a pair of cat ears, "I'm here in spirit."
"Whoa, whoa." Mike frowned, pointing at Lucas' costume angrily.
"What?" Lucas asked, looking extremely confused.
"Why are you Venkman?"
"Because I'm Venkman." Lucas insisted, while Mike shook his head.
"No, I'm Venkman."
"Guys, chill, it's a costume." Skylar tried, but they both ignored her and continued arguing.
"Why can't there just be two Venkmans?" Will asked, and Mike looked at him like he was stupid.
"Because there's only one Venkman in real life. We planned this months ago!" Mike protested, and Skylar hid her snicker at the words 'real life'.
"I'm Venkman, Dustin's Stantz, Will's Egon and you're Winston!" he looked at Skylar and shrugged, "Skylar was whatever inspired her on the day."
Skylar held up the cat ears, grinning, "My inspiration was being forgetful!"
"I specifically didn't agree to Winston." Lucas argued.
"Yes, you did."
"I don't think he did.." Will murmured.
"No one wants to be Winston, man." Lucas insisted.
"What's wrong with Winston?"
"What's wrong with Winston?" Lucas repeated as though it were a joke, "He joined the team super late, he's not funny, and he's not even a scientist!"
"Yeah, but he's still cool!"
"If he's still cool, then you be Winston!" Lucas spat, and Skylar got bored, starting to spin around in circles on the grass.
"I can't!"
"Why not?" Lucas asked, and Mike started to stammer, "B-because you're not black?" Lucas guessed, and Mike froze.
"I didn't say that!"
"You thought it!"
Dustin started turning around in horror to the groups of children getting off the bus, none of whom were in any form of costume.
"Guys.. guys! Guys!" Dustin yelled, finally dragging Dustin and Mike out of their argument, "Why is no one else wearing costumes?"
Skylar looked down at the cat ears, slipping them over her head anyway why a small smile, "They're a cute accessory, I guess."
