A FAINT GROAN slipped from Skylar's lips as she stirred, a faint pounding in her head reminding her of the previous day.

Skylar's eyes flickered open, a scream escaping her as she saw brown eyes reflected back at her, mere inches from her own.

Eleven was stood over her, frowning slightly. She held a mug in her hands, and she thrusted it toward Skylar.

"Lucas made it. He said it was a.. hot.. chocolate?" She seemed confused with the last two words, and just pushed the drink closer to Skylar.

"Oh," Skylar mused, looking around the empty basement in confusion. "Where is Lucas? In fact, where's anyone?" She grabbed the drink, taking a sip. It was cold, but it was still nice. A few marshmallows bobbed around the top.

"Funeral." Eleven said simply, picking at the woollen jumper she was wearing, causing bobbled lint to fall onto the ground.

Guilt flooded through Skylar at the fact that she wasn't there too, but then the ache in her head reminded her why she wasn't.

"What.. happened?" She asked tentatively, gesturing to her head.

"You went to sleep, for a long time."

Peeking her head out of the window, Skylar saw that it was at least midday, if not later.

"Why?"

"I don't know." Eleven replied, but she was staring at Skylar as though she were supposed to realise something. Skylar had no idea what. Despite knowing she had been unconscious, she didn't remember anything else, apart from a dream she might have had. Everything was foggy.

Skylar sighed, swinging her legs over the sofa and standing up, ignoring the sudden wave of nausea that hit her and stretched.

"Did they say when they'd be back?"

Eleven shrugged.

"Is his mom home?"

Eleven shook her head, and Skylar smiled, leading her up the stairs with a grin.

"You want me to make some Eggos?"

Eleven nodded vigorously, and Skylar looked around the kitchen, grinning when she found a full box of waffles stuffed behind the toaster. Skylar sat on the counter while she waited, and Eleven was sat by the kitchen table, swinging her legs happily.

"Have they figured out where Will is yet?" Skylar tried to keep her voice light, but her heart was heavy with desperation. She knew that if they didn't find the boy soon, it would be too late.

"Upside down." Eleven rasped, and Skylar had to listen carefully just to hear it.

"What do you mean? Where is that?" Skylar was confused. Where was the 'upside down'? If Will was there, why hadn't the boy gone to find him?
